I have no idea how common it is overall. My father was circumcised in his early 20s as well and I have one friend I know got himself circumcised in his 20s.
I was circumcised because my fiance wanted me to be circumcised before we got married. It was important to her to have a circumcised husband. I was a bit resistant at first but eventually I agreed and we've both been happy with it since.

I've found this too. There is some variation amongst women in terms of preference but I work in healthcare and the the women I know who work in healthcare are 100% in favor of it. I've literally never had one express a preference for uncut cocks and most will rant about how much better circumcision is. (It actually comes up more than you'd think.) I think it comes from seeing so many cocks and having to deal with foreskins, particularly in older guys that makes them prefer circumcision.
