No way. Maybe if you have over 2 oz or something but it's not hard to play it safe. This is for most counties, but I moved to Austin because weed is just about decriminalized here. I've been caught by APD smoking and they only fined her and stole our stuff. No arrest. Obviously in bumfuck Texas it's going to be way worse and worser still if you aren't white, but I'm not too worried about it. If you don't fucking drive around looking for trouble blasting blunts no one's going to care. People mind their own business here.

Depends largely on how much it is. Also on whether you buy it or grow yourself.

When I lived in Canada top quality weed (easily the best in the world) was only $4~7/g depending how fucked up you wanted to get. Canada's alcohol prices were so high it was literally cheaper to just smoke up 1 or 2 grams every night instead. Used to get an ounce bag of top shelf for $150 every 3 weeks or so.
I live in NZ now, weed's $400~500 an ounce. Finding a connect is hard and dealers rarely want to sell more than $50 (1/8th) or $100 (1/4) at a time.
I make 1/8th last me a month now. Last time I managed to get a half-ounce bag I made it last 4 months.

When you compare to drinking a 6pack of beer a day, which is easily $8~15/day depending what kind of beer you're getting it's way cheaper to get stoned than it is to get drunk.
The trick is just not to give in to the munchies. shit's all in your head.
I know a lot of stoners who "save" money by only smoking $5 or less a day in weed but they spend $10-15 a day in snack runs to the store when they're high.

High quality LEDs are the way to go. Very low heat output. And you can flower a 2x4 tent with a 150-250 actual watt light. Very little electricity consumption. In order to register with the electricity company, you'd need to be growing a room with several 1000w lights.

By having a full time job, only smoke the minimum before work
By making what I do have stretch out by using a dry herb vaporizer instead of burning it, vape the same bowl twice, and saving the abv for later as there's still plenty of thc in it and it's decarbed so you can make edibles out of it.

If I wasn't a renter I'd be able to grow my own with no actual limit to how much I can legally stockpile as long as any amount over my med allowance is made casually inaccessible

I live in Texas did 45 days for a gram and 45 days another time for a roach. Growing is felony. I lived homeless in Cali for 16 months just for the weed and it was worth it; been back over a year and no weed. This is no way to live, I miss being homeless.

I grow my own weed outdoor, its 10-15 plants and it is enought for all year smoking + something for my friends. Cost me about 100 - 200 dolaras for seeds.

I have a job and use one hitters and pipes so I'm not burning up so much. Take a few bowls and I'm as high as I would be off a bong rip or whatever. I smoke a half a month and am high most of the day. Gotta learn to stretch it.

An apple tree takes years to come on still costs fuck all. Autoflowering weed. Is good to harvest in about 10 weeks and if grown in ideal conditions can grow 650g of flower(dried) per metre square.

I only spent a grand on a 10 x 10 tent, large air conditioning tubing leading out the sheet rock sealed window and an exhaust fan + filter, then another 800 in fans and automated lighting for 16 large plants, 500 in a hydro system that worked with clay balls, and another 500 for the seedling center.
