It'd be nice.
How are profit-driven prisons even a thing? It is totally insane to think wardens would have a vested interest in keeping people imprisoned.
How the fuck is for-profit healthcare a thing? It seems totally insane for those that provide healthcare to us to be worried about their bottom line.
And education? Great idea, let's penalize those who want to contribute to the world by giving the majority of them crippling debt.
I don't know bout that.
Fuck that i make a few thousand a year of private prisons.
>Prisons
>Liberty
>Dignifying comments made by a woman
How?
Because people have to provide those services sweety.
>It is totally insane to think wardens would have a vested interest in keeping people imprisoned.
Obviously the wardens will promote violence in their prisons, because that gets prisoners extended sentences, hence more business.
But, more indisious: the wardens will bribe the police and judiciary to generate more prisoners.
Untimately it boils down to a pair of very basic facts that are being ignored:
- People in prison is an undesirable thing
- If you pay money for a thing, you get more of it

> Because people have to provide those services sweety.
It's one thing to PAY people for these services.
It's another thing to let them PROFIT from the business.
But, carry on being USA and ignore all the situations in all the other countries of the world. That way you'll never know how fucked up you are.
So the warden shouldn't get a pay check?
That sounds stupid.
In a move surprising no one twitterfag fails to differentiate between positive and negative rights
Can you really be that stupid?
There's a difference between PAYING the man to do his job, and letting him RAKE IN PROFITS from the business itself.
Example; we pay Navy captains to do their jobs.
Suppose we let them profit as well?
They'd be sneaking off to third world hotspots and offering to sink ships and shell towns for money.
lol at using "life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness" to try and push more government when that phrase was used for the complete opposite reason
>life
government can't take your life at will for no reason
>liberty
government can't take your freedom away without due process
>pursuit of happiness
government doesn't interfere with your life pursuits
>saying it again for emphasis
passive aggressive fag speak

No private prisons = only state and federal prisons.
State and federal employees get paid on a non-profit basis.
I agree with the prison thing. Everything else is garbage.
There just needs to be more freedom within education and healthcare. People shouldn't be forced into public school or private school. Curriculums should be way more flexible. We also need to discuss why family life is a complete shit show.
Healthcare idk at the moment what you should do, but there are laws and then there is culture. Perhaps income tax has created an exploitative culture where our hospitals do in fact set high medical bills so they can be able to charge insurance companies what is owed instead of bankrupting you because the insurance companies only pay a small percentage.
Idiots that pay $100000 for a transnigger pavement kin 'degree' deserve to be horribly in debt. Society should not subsidize these tards or ones that think being slutty for 4 years is an education, or morons that think problem glasses are their identity and they need $100000 to show it off..
I would agree. Because if you argue otherwise you're missing that to charge for services just to the extent that it covers the pay that is required for staff to run said services is completely different than charging soooo much that you can pay the staff and still rake in record profits for the business end that runs most hospitals in America or prisons or Yada Yada is a whole other thing.
government controlled medicine is life? prisons are liberty? no happiness without state controlled education? it seems the brainwashing worked.
Do you want good Healthcare or shitty Healthcare?
Do you want to go to a public prison or private prison?(FYI everyone chooses private prisons public ones have way way worse commissary)
Do you want to go a public school or private school?
>people being in prisons is an undesirable thing
prisoners cannot vote. the american goverment has a very big interest in imprisoning people they dont want voting. poors and blacks.
Fair enough. So, without using "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness" then, the questions still remain...
Are profit-driven prisons a good idea?
Is profit-driven healthcare a good idea?
Is profit-driven education a good idea?
Are prisons supposed to be for delish food?
And the evidence is that for profit schools are worse in every measure.
this is a true statement, but it is difficult to fix now that all are for-profit industries
state-funded colleges and universities are used as a source of revenue for states. as far as i know, this started in Washington around 2006. money for Washington state public colleges and universities goes into the state general fund, and the state sends money back. gov. gregoire raised tuition for UW every year, and every year cut the budget. the university had to accept more out of state and international students. those students don't get tuition subsidzed by the state. California started doing the same when gov. brown got re-elected. the argument is that students are willing to pay for a college education, so states should use it as a source of revenue
the documentary 13th on netflix talks about the for-profit prisons effectively being a form of slavery. joe biden authored the bill that made for-profit prisons a big thing. bill and hillary clinton pushed the for-profit prison system,, and hillary created the idea that black males are superpredators who need to be locked up for everyone's safety. the documentary blames nixon and trump for the for-profit prison industry the biden and the clintons created, but it's a stretch to follow their reasoning
for-profit hospitals have thrived since the ACA was passed. obama ran on a platform of making healthcare affordable, the idea being that if people an afford healthcare they will pay for it. the problem is the ACA forces everyone to have healthcare. in a capitalst economy, consumers will not buy something if it not worth the price. the ACA takes away that option, people pay for health insurance that doesn't cover anything because it's cheaper than getting fined. the for-profit hospitals thrive because they are run as a business, not as a hospital. regional hospitals shut down because folks have crappy coverage that doesn't pay for treatment
1. The government covers everything in so much bureaucratic red tape and hopes to jump through it never does anything well.
2. The government covers everything in so much bureaucratic red tape and hopes to jump through it never does anything well.
3. The government covers everything in so much bureaucratic red tape and hopes to jump through it never does anything well.
Much better to find a way to let it be done for profit with regulations to make sure it's not taking advantage of people.
to continue the for-profit hospials, the big hospital near where i live is for profit. a few years ago, it was in the top 100 hospitals in the country for research funding and in the bottom 20 hospitals in the country for quality of patient care. they have a reputation for letting patients 'code blue' if the hospital would lose money treating them. that means they let patients die if the hospital would lose money on them. they are the only trauma center for more than 100 miles in any direction, so no one can sue them. you need doctors as expert witnesses for a medical malpractice suit, and doctors won't testify against the only trauma center in a region
I want to public my privates how do
>And the evidence is that for profit schools are worse in every measure.
You can't believe that public schools do a better job educating than private schools... What measure *exactly* do you mean, because it's not test scores, future success, or class sizes.
I'm all for the free market, except when it comes to healthcare and prisons. To make money off the sick and imprisoned seems fundamentally wrong to me.
Education I'm kind of on the fence about. I do agree tuition has spiraled very far out of control. Just look at the data, adjusted for inflation, for what our parents paid vs. what we're paying in tuition. It's insane. Something is not right here.
>profit-driven prisons
no, since we all follow the same law, and they should all be up to the same standards anyways
>profit-driven healthcare
yes, this allows competition between companies which is always better for consumers, because these companies are competing to give better service for a lower cost, otherwise they lose to to the other guy. gov controlled healthcare will be like turning the hospitals into the DMV, they don't give a shit about you since it's not their money being spent, it's yours through taxes. also when it's for profit, there's competition for research to be done on medical advances, which will be lost if it's gov controlled
>profit-driven education
yes, but education can be both: you have the public education as the basic free education available to everyone since some are so poor they can't afford their own private education. however private education exists for those who want their kids to be smarter/have a better chance at college, and have the extra coin to spend on it. it's a choice for the citizen, get average free education, or expensive high end education
>And the evidence is that for profit schools are worse in every measure.
Not true . Except maybe if you like football alot.
Private schools are the best for education.
>Are prisons supposed to be for delish food?
thats not what we were arguing. If that is the case then fuck them all don't spend a dime push them into a hole alive and bury.
Most health insurance companies and virtually all colleges are non-profits. In fact, the only "for profit" post-K-12 schools are those shitholes like DeVry and the "technical schools" you find in old shopping malls.
OP is guided by feelings and not facts.
>In fact, the only "for profit" post-K-12 schools are those shitholes like DeVry and the "technical schools" you find in old shopping malls
What are you talking about what about super fucking fancy private schools?
Harvard, Princeton, Yale... .all non-profits. Look it up.
Nothing wrong with any of this but niggers
Are you retarded dude? I didn't' say college
we are talking about post-K-12??? Jesus Christ you are dumb must of gone to a public school.
>Literal nobody.
Opinion discarded.
she's right
Post K-12. Post meaning "after". "After" grade 12 is secondary education, i.e. "college"
She was probably raped multiple times as a youth.
You don't a right to healthcare, you don't have a right to make me or anyone else pay for it either. I'm willing to hear arguments for prison reform, weak as most are and higher education is not a right. You also do not have a right to make me pay for your liberal arts or lesbian dance theory degree either, you stupid fucking retards. Fuck every entitled millennial piece of shit that spouts off about what they're owed.
>with regulations
this is retarded.
why can't they just run some shit and hands off other shit.
She said education, not higher education ya dingus.
Ok boomer
lesbian dance theory is the best thing I've ever read here
I find it interesting that some people consider medical insurance some basic human right instead of, oh, I dunno... FOOD, SHELTER, HEAT, WATER.
Then it's a moot point, considering it's already a right. She obviously means higher education in addition to baseline education.
Your life sounds boring as shit.
How tf u think insurance work? You pay a higher premium because of adverse selection.
>doesn't know what are governments for.
Nothing to discuss, only 3rd world shitholes like USA managed to fuck things up so they ended up with for-profit slaveprisons, fucked up healthcare that paradoxically costs more than any other system while at the same time being fucking useless and a fucking useless nigger riddled education system.
>yfw private prisons have the lowest rate of reoffending, sexual violence and highest rate of rehabilitation
The state merely desires a monopoly ob imprisonment to convince you they are necessary, they do this because they all know how much they've stolen over the years and how badly their ass would be treated if people acknowledged this,
Then explain why people flock to the U.S in mass and not other countries boasting of their superior systems. Because that's not where we see immigration going, people don't want Government around every corner, they seek oppritunity. Although I'm not sure this nuanced idea will ever reach your thick, ideologically tainted skull, you stupid faggot.
I see you have no arguments why USA has such shitty prison system, shitty healthcare and shitty education. Deflect deflect.
No, he's simply not taking the bait and not accepting the premise of your nonsense.
Ah, another denialist faggot that can't explain why USA is such a shithole.
Truly a 3rd world country pretending to be civilised.
Again, we're not accepting your premise. As the other user stated, they're literally massing at our borders for a chance to live in America. It would seem logical that if we were such a "shithole", they'd all want to go some place else. Yet, here we are.
So, you're a troll. Got it.
>b-but they want to come here
Not an argument. I see you don't have any arguments either.
It is not a shithole. As much as you want it to be one, it isn't I'm sorry for your disappointment. People from around the world stand in line, sneak in at night, marry someone... just for the opportunity to live in the United States. Places like Italy are rotting from within. Venezuela is finished. Russia is bankrupt. Hell, even Canadians with extra cash are coming over for health care since it's so rationed there.
But, troll on, my little under-bridge dweller. Troll on.
1. Make registering a health care business a mandatory not-for-profit.
2. Make registering a Prison business a mandatory not-for-profit.
3. Make registering a education business a mandatory not-for-profit.
Cap all salaries for all position, including contractors, at no higher than 30% the minimum wage.
Pay Bonuses of 50% salary at end of 4 year period for:
1. Number of cases treated to minimum regulation standard.
2. Number of prisoners re-offending lower than 30% of those taken in.
3. Number of students given 10 hours one on one personal tuition at the minimum regulation standard.
gratz - no need for government to run things, and now you have standardized the system across the board - firms can still compete to meet the standards and exceed them if they want to just for the 'look Im better dick waving'
>Cap all salaries for all position, including contractors, at no higher than 30% the minimum wage.
Let's think this through, shall we? First, let's GIVE you people that $15/hr minimum wage you wanted. That makes the top tier Harvard medical school professor's pay $19.50 per hour. Do you really want your family doctor to be someone who learned medicine under some dirtbag who earned less than what a Denny's waitress makes in tips?
there like 120 top tier Harvard professors.
there are like 3.6 million primary school teachers.
Fuck the Harvard professors - they are pretentious cunts. go join a private research institute of you want lots of fucking money.
if you wanna teach, teach becasue its worth doing.
also minimum wage for 'professional education' is $32.50ph
