oh, you should. you definitely should.

because you're a typical Yas Forumstard and you wouldn't qualify, they'd laugh you right out of the recruiter's station

Have you done it yet?
You should totally do it.

It’s the navy dude.
So long as he looks like he’ll fill a niche fetish, he’s in.

fuck marines join army hooah

Whoooooore!

>Give me one reason why i shouldn’t Yas Forums
everyone i know who joined fucking hated it

Join Army, become a Ranger

Care to tell me why? I know being a marine fucking sucks but isn’t it obvious?

Male or female? Race?

Just because you like men in uniform, doesn't mean you are qualified...

GAY

Yes you should! Go to your nearest recruiter and tell him you want to be infantry!

Fuck these fags saying you aren’t qualified, they’ve clearly never seen boot camp. You can be dumb as rocks or as smart as they come in the marine corps, it hardly matters what shape you’re in beforehand, they will get you in shape. The pay is alright, the benefits are good, if you’ve nothing else to do I don’t see why you shouldn’t.

there was a USMC user posting earlier about how he'd been in for a year and desperately wanted to kill himself. I guess we'll see you back in a year

donald trump is your commander in chief and you have to give your life on his order. does that sound like good deal?

kek ok u wont join anyway self-loathing pussy

> This

Wait like 1-4 years OP until we have a president that doesn’t sell steaks.

Don't join as an enlisted, and in any fight the Marine's will be the first to die due to them being the first troops to land. (Not to mention amphibious landings with high mortality rates.

dilate

If trump told you to shoot someone would you do it

it depends user

Immaturity

I was, and still am immature, and couldn't handle basic training at ft benning (army)
It's not for everyone even if it is honorable (outsiders perspective) and is stable

What age are you and can you roll with it, cause if not it'll be more than you can chew
For a half year

you dont have the balls

I’m 24. What does my age have anything to do with this?

One reason? In addition to all the usual reasons not to join the military, being in the Marines means you will be unemployable in the civilian world AND you will have no military career to speak of.

Life experience
I joined at 17 but my age was like 5 so I couldn't handle the pressure of it

By other trainee's account, it's very similar to prison (packed, little privacy, and butting of heads, etc)

Thank you for your advice. I’ll think about it. The reason i want to join is because i don’t have anything better to do as of now. I just got kicked out college last year and tbh i don’t really want to go back. My daily routine is wake up, eat, play vidya, and go back to sleep. I don’t know if i should continue to live like this user. My life is pretty shitty atm.

There's no point. No war is going on so joining the military is meaningless.

The Navy is better. Nuff said

Faggots not soldiers

fuck the marines OP. this is what you should do to breeze by doing jackshit
>join army
>get an aviation MOS like 15R or anything 15
>automatically be recommend for special ops because they are always needing aviation personnel
>get to fix fucking helicopters and shit. real life skills for when you get out.
>enter a close knitted unit that does jack shit all day in bum fuck kentucky/alabama.
>probably deploy once but be safe for your entire stay because you're a POG.

You don’t join the Marines, fuckface, you become a Marine. That said do it so you can kill Chinese people.

pppffffffffffffffttttttttttttttttt

Marine here, yes. The oath of enlistment says we’re required to protect the constitution from ALL enemies, both foreign and domestic. If Jamal from down the block burns the constitution, say the word and he dies. We aren’t in an active war and I need another medal.

>Marine's will be the first to die due to them being the first troops to land.

Not always

>Posse Comitatus Act
You belong in the Marines you retarded fuck.

>get a job
>realize theres more ways to make money then american slavery

>Not to mention amphibious landings with high mortality rates.
When is the last time this happened in actual combat? It's almost as retarded as having dedicated paratroopers.

Nigger nigger I’ll pull the trigger. If your communist ass doesn’t like it you can leave.

It happened a lot in ww2

>doesn't even know what policies are
Fuck off you retard, I can live wherever the fuck I want. Go die for $1 off a gallon of gas.

>3/4 of a century ago
lol

Join it or regret it foreveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrr.

I mean my life was direction less and was full of a complete lack of discipline and being babied so the drill sergeants screaming in my face was enough to break me down

If you choose it, you'll have to live with it
It isn't something you'll choose, it'll be the definition of it being a way of life, you wake up in it and sleep in it, wake up for it, and go to sleep to wake up for it

Idk if marine boot camp is anything like army but you do what you're told when you're told to, you either say yes drill sergeant or no drill sergeant, you stay on top of your shit or others will be fucked over for it, and you persevere even if the odds are stacked against you (mentally, shitty equipment, environment)

Also mind your own, they aren't your friends, and don't fold
You shave correctly, wear the right socks, wear the correct uniform and correctly, don't smile, don't laugh, look forward, do your pivots correctly
Wake up with little sleep, function regardless, eat food that is either decent or good, and get paid shit to train and no, it isn't call of duty

It gets cold, it gets hot
You get fucked over by other people even if you give fucks and stay on top of your shit

Think about the commitment and the sacrifice and how it'll directly affect your life in every way

But what is an enemy of the constitution, is it someone who wants to change the constitution?

Big words from behind a keyboard lmao.

No, cause amendments do that. Who the enemy is, isn’t our problem for the most part. We just get paid to shoot things/people. Just need a target. Moral decisions don’t have a place in the military.

So if you were told that your mother was the enemy you would shoot her

>it’s the navy dude
you mean every other branch

Easily. It’s personal, but I don’t give a fuck. Others feel differently of course.

Then you are not fit to be in the military. You are just a trigger happy idiot.

This is the exact blind loyalty the Corps loves. You are absolutely PERFECT for the military and I don’t mean that as a compliment. The best decision I ever made when I was in was getting out.

Don’t get too upset. He’s probably either a brand new boot or an S1 E6 yelling at nig marines that their hair is too long.

What about civilians, would you kill them if ordered

>Big words from behind a keyboard lmao.
keep larping retard

Marine here full send if you aren't afraid to get spit on by drill instructors yelling at you and doing some of the stupidest shit you could imagine for 4 months if you want something that rewards the Same but is easier plus gives you more qualifications in the real world join the air Force

Ironically those are the most comfortable in the military, the original catch 22

It's pretty decent but it depends on what you want to do later on in life OP. Did my 4 years in the airforce as cyber security, finished school got a job now making 90k a year with benefits from the airforce and living a good life. But honestly join the army, airforce, or navy if you want to learn some life skills that would help you out in the real world.

Non-shitpost reason:
We're in peacetime footing. If you want to be treated like a grade schooler in shitty conditions, then sure. Otherwise, it's not the best place to be right now. Unless you're at risk of being homeless and/or there really aren't opportunities for you where you live, you're better off getting a civilian job or going to college to get a practical degree. If you go anything not admin, you really aren't going to get to do what you trained for, and you're going to be miserable most of the time. At current, if you are dead set on militatlry service, join the National Guard. You get the freedom of being a civilian, and you can do all the cool shooty stuff couple times a year. Plus, if a natural disaster happens, you can actually make a tangible difference serving instead of just being stuck on a ship somewhere or stationed in Okinawa, Hawaii, or east/west coast as a Marine.

I'll give you an answer, OP. Take note, I was not a Marine, but I was in the Navy for 6 years and this is what I got from it.
Boot camp, at least for the Navy wasn't hard. I know the Marines have a different take on it competely, but if you just keep your head down and do what you are told, I dont see any reason why you can't do it. Work out, and just honestly don't quit.
Before you join, understand that any mental health issues you have will NOT go away or be fixed. In my expirence, they are only amplified. You're gonna be stressed, you're gonna have days where you abosolutely hate your life and its going to be awful. Do not think you're exempt from it. There are gonna be days where you sit in your car or whatever you're doing on the verge of tears because you are a 20 something young man who is being asked to do a lot of menial bullshit with shitty leaders who don't give a fuck about you or who you are. YOU WILL do shit you hate. You will do shit that's dumb and boring. I'd say this is actually a majority of the job. It's not glamorus at all, and it's not fun. There's no shame in going to college or just living normally, and you have options.

However, you will make friends you'll keep for life. People you trust like absolutely no other, and you'll love them for life. I can think of 5 people right now where if they called me, I would, without hesistation, do whatever they needed. That's something I have never been able to emulate anywhere else. Weigh your options, don't let a recruiter sway you, and do what you think will be best for you.

>join the National Guard
This. Or the reserves.

>drill sergeant

Confirmed you don't know shit about the corps
