The complete mechanism for your desires is not fully understood but it is most certainly a malfunction. Humans are not perfect like machines and there is a continuum of what it means to be homosexual.
With the advancing of scientific understanding I foresee a future where there will be no homosexuals born with a preference for finding males sexual. I never have had the thought of viewing a man sexually. And I know other man have had the same experience of not desiring men. Sexual desire is really just the urge to procreate. And push one's genetic code forward. As biological organisms this is our deepest drive. This is quite literally our reason for living. Now, for homo sexual individuals they have this desire to procreate, BUT they desire to do so with the same sex as their own.... That is why it is a malfunction.
Imagine if you will, a population of organisms that ONLY want to procreate with their own sex which creates zero offspring? Such entities would not exist because they would die off.

I am aware of the literature on this theory... It was observed in Samoan/Pacific Islander culture among a select group of individuals in their culture callled the "fa'afafine" ... And that is exactly the role they play... But this is certainly not the role that all homo sexual men take on in their respective cultures. Especially in Western culture. I conclude that this is an "adjustment" that those with the brain deformation causing homo sexuality take on in order to play a role in society. Other cultures will accept them and their role while strict cultures like those in the west with Abrahamic religions will be against them WHY?
Why is homosexuality among males viewed almost universally as a negative. I think it is due to the fact that it is a malfunction which does not promote the creating of offspring which violates the imperitive for survival which is all that nature cares about.
Another idea that as a brain malfunction among a small percentage of the population it is clear that it's absence among humans will not be a loss to humans as a whole.
Expecting hetero sexual parents being informed that their child shows genetic traits of being homo sexual will opt to have the fetus genetically treated to gain a heterosexual child. I see this being common and accepted in the future.
