Final Fantasy 7 is the best game in the series. Change my mind.
Final Fantasy 7 is the best game in the series. Change my mind
It didn't age that well
>Oversaturated Edgelord Emo Phase Inspired Protagonist semi-infected by alien virus cells to stop Oversaturated Edgelord Emo Phase Inspired Antagonist looking to butt rape the planet with a meteor.
Not exactly the """best""" but it is high up on the 8-8.5 out of 10. The best thing out of it is the pair of tits with fists- Tifa.
Final Fantasy Tactics, however, is the shit. Has themes of religious fanaticism influences political agendas, little to no nonsense story and plot, a protagonist who simply is in the middle of the conflict, not merely existing "because" of the conflict, and the fucking job system is amazing.
How so?
Yea the models look kinda aged, but every other aspect of the game is great. Background art is great. Music is great. Captivating plot.
I never played the game when it came out. Got the switch version last year and is one of the best game purchases I've ever made
Dickgirl cloud makes it the best
True 22 Quads of truth
Story is trash but the materia system is god tier. The games setting goes to shit HARD once you leave Migdar.
I actually liked 8 more. (mostly because of triple Triad)
Except the Magic junction system was broken as fuck.
If you kept your level low and got good magic junctions, you could faceroll every boss.
Materia system was best system bar none.
Also Fire 1-2-3 > fire-fira-firaga
8 is easily the most guilty of jap story telling tropes. 18 year old generals? Sure.
mario
make me
>Captivating plot
the plot is garbage
It is, whoever mentions graphics or aging has no fucking clue, you have to compare it to all the other games that came out in 1997, it blew out of the water every other game.
Ok, so before I try to change your mind let me qualify my comment by saying FFVII, HL2, Halo (Franchise 1-3), Sonic 2, Goldeneye are my favourite games of all time in order...
But then Doom 2016 came along. FUCK ME it’s the greatest game of all time.
8 was the easiest FF game ever, just waste your patience drawing till you are bored out of your skull and then you are OP, game is fucking boring and dumb.
>game is fucking boring and dumb.
not to mention the limit breaks are extremely easy to keep using over and over again
Yeah, VII is great and all but have you ever played IX?
IX had crap music but everything else was on point, Necron was legitimately very difficult
wrong.
ratings and values change, constantly.
You have to rate it completely and as a whole at the exact moment you rate it, all factors considered.
Otherwise pong would be the best game ever, forever.
Don't become one of those fags that claim Zelda OOT on the N64 was the best game ever, just because they happened to grow up with it.
Some games are so resilient, that they can stand decades of time with only losing little value, some only keep for 5 or 10 years, no matter how popular they were on release.
10
I always enjoyed XII the most but I don't know how many others share that sentiment.
6 and tactics were the best. 7 and 10 were great. 8 was utter shit. 9 and 12 were okay. 13 was way to linear. 15 had its moments. My first was the original on the NES.
Tactics storyline was pretty fucking awesome. Actual political intrigue. the dope gameplay didn't hurt
VI
But that's the problem with IX. They build up Kuja throughout the entire game, and he isn't the final boss. Necron is and you know nothing about him.
This 100000% 6 and tactics are best then 9 and 7.
You might be right. You might be... but then again, you ever hear of a little game known as Final Fantasy XVI??? Or FF 16-2? Yeah. That's what I thought.
Wtf. Unless your FF 7 cart has gray pubic hair and an AARP card, why are we talking about how the game has "aged"? Video games aren't alive, you know.
VII's release changed the video game landscape. Prior to its release RPG's were a niche genre. This game also showcased the power of the Playstation. One of my favorite ads for VII was a slam on Nintendo continuing to use cartridges. If VII had been released as it was for Nintendo it would have cost $1200.
FFX-2 aka FF Charlie's Angels complete shit
A lot of FF games do the same thing, it's like a FF trope
Atari games have definitely aged
Outside of nostalgia or novelty, playing an Atari game today is much less enjoyable then it would have been during the early 80s
at least it was more enjoyable to play than X which was extremely boring
It's really nothing special, my first ff game was x it's my favourite game to this day and a big part of that has to do with the nostalgia attached to it which is why you like ff vii so much.
>FF7 cart
Shitty bait, people still take it.
I've plaved every FF except 2,3,11, and 14. X was a great game. X-2 was a pile of shitty fan service cash grabbing. It sucked.
HISTORY NIGGAS
>nostalgia attached to it which is why you like ff vii so much.
I like a game I never played until last year because of nostalgia?
Please elaborate
I loved xii, right until you got towards the end and it just becomes a labyrinth crawler to drag the game out a few more hours, but the theme was amazing, the story was good the characters were good and the scenery was extremely good in places
I feel like people say x was shit just to be controversial
I enjoyed XII's ending because it wasn't about the end of the world.
>FF 7 cart
WE WANT ANOTHER. WE WANT ANOTHER. IT SHOULDNT BE HARD, THE ENDING HAPPENS TOO SOON.
Oh no I like the ending, I just didn't like the gameplay leading up to it, there's a lot of dungeons you have to find your way through it just gets enraging after a while.
Well...
>I abused all the systems in the game by spending hours grinding therefore the game is boring.
You know if you don't waste time grinding trying to beat the system, the game actually presents you with all the things you need to progress steadily with minimal drawing, the only thing you 'have' to do is manage your GF learning, then you have a bunch of RF abilities and can make a shit load of decent magic just from the unused junk you aquire through questing.
Besides you can just use their magic booster in the re-release and then coast til disc 3 just like had grinded out all that bs.
The Real problem with FF8 is the absolute hot garbage tutorials for the actual systems. Had the menus been easier to understand and maybe had the trickled in each of the concepts bit by bit people would have properly understood it.
Forgot the name but the tower you have to fight your way up near the end about made me drop the game it was so bad.
it was great in every way besides the gameplay, i mean the battle system was good but it just wasn't fun to play at all
Yep I only finished the game today but I gave 2 days on that stupid fucking tower, and there's another fucking tower 10 minutes after you get out of that tower.
Halo 3? Ew
>there's another fucking tower 10 minutes after you get out of that tower.
what a twist
The gameplay isn't fun but it's perfect for if you just want something chill to play, it's not exciting but you can do it at your own pace, I like going on youtube every now and then and watch the cutscenes as a movie
"This guy are sick." -Aeris
They built up the queen, then kuja, then it was necron
I thought the music was fitting, and as far as ff goes, it was the easiest, although i never got very far in 8.
Ff14 was best, the rest is shit.
XII was really cool, but got a little boring/repetitive as you got closer to whatever the empires capital was. Definitely the last great ff
Sorry I should clarify, in my country "cart" is short for "compact disc". Looking back, I can see why you were confused.
>Final Fantasy Tactics
t. A retard too shallow to remove his rose colored glasses and/or who has never played any other FF games.
Both the protagonist and antagonist are emo faggots. 13 got it right by basically making Lightning a female version of Cloud; the character actually made sense as the moodiness fits a woman far more than a so called military man. As for the other characters: Tifa is only remembered because boobs, Mr gun arm for, well, that, there's a stupid dog, some chick that gets stabbed, some... Other chick? And the badass airship guy Setz... I mean, Cid. This is all on top of the incredibly stupid and overplayed trope of "big business bad" throughout the game.
Wow 7 was bad. Play 4, 6, 9, 10, or even 13 if you want a game with a well written story and memorable characters.
The Materia system was pretty gud though.
Sure is summer in here.
With the quarantine in full effect, summer came early it seems.
Why is agrais so fucking hot?
>stasis sword
How can you have FINAL Fantasy 7?? Seriously. Doesn’t seem very final at all. Is it like the rest of the Highlander movies?
Without a doubt.
One word: Tactics
>his
Please
Can’t and won’t. Just can’t die before Friday!
X was drastically good, with a 91% liked rating regardless of retarded criticism.
The story is pretty in depth, and requires several playthroughs to understand certain elements (like why seymour replace jyskall, how tidus ended up where he did, etc.)
The only part about X I can see what people don't like is the first 3-4 hours is basically a tutorial with very dull mechanics, after you get past the blitzball game the difficulty gets exponentially hard, I would bet that OP never even got to the optional boss "Nemesis".
I do think FF7 is better (however outdated) but X is definitely legendary and anyone who doesn't like it obviously has dad issues themselves or something that they project.
