Cannibal holocaust and Nekromantic I've seen within a span of two days from each other. That was an interesting time.
As for actually upsetting films, I tend to veer away from them. I'd seen Possession just a few days ago and am still shook from it.
I hear Serbian Film and Salo are real upsetting

Eh, I mean Salò is kind of upsetting but A Serbian Film not so much. Maybe I overestimated just how "disturbing" I thought it would be but I felt pretty underwhelmed by it.

Noroi (2005) AKA The Curse. Really good low-budget horror framed as one of those low-budget Paranormal investigator shows that bites of waaay more than they can chew.

If you haven't seen The Haunting (1963) I recommend it. Some great soundwork in that movie.
A Dark Song is a slightly deeper cut and also doesn't adhere to the typical cliches of the genre.

Lake Mungo (2008) A mockumentary that starts out looking like a true-crime documentary before going of the rails. First rate movie - its so well done that it works very well as a movie to watch with people who don't know about it. Watching people realise that this is a horror movie not a documentary is great.
