Here's also another tidbit that I found pretty universal although you're already married to her so it might be too late.
When you're dating a girl and meet her parents, how does her mom look? Is she fat, is she skinny? This is actually kind of a decent indicator of what she'll be like when she's older. I think it probably has something to do with genetics obviously, but more so with eating and health habits that parents pass onto their kids when they're growing up. If the mom's relatively thin and healthy looking, she's probably been eating alright her whole life and taught her daughter how to eat well and in moderation. Eating and health habits that we learn as kids tend to follow us our entire lives, makes sense right?
If the daughter's skinny and the mom's fat, chances are the second she gets a chance, she's gonna balloon up. Especially after having a kid.
