Got a 686 muddy once during rainy weather innawoods and the thing locked up like crazy.

Revolvers REALLY don't like sand, dirt, or mud in the lockwork. I don't mind them for range use or backpacking where I can have them in a flap holster to keep stuff out of them but after that experience I prefer a G21 for innawoods stuff.

I do, a cheap little Rock Island M206.
Bought it when I was on a wheelgun kick, instead of buying a 686.
Real glad I spent the ~$180 for it instead of ~$500 for a 686

People will argue that revolvers are more reliable. That's partly true and partly false. Revolvers don't usually 'jam' as often as semiautos but when they do have issues (timing issues, cylinder lockup, etc) they're a bitch to fix. The one big benefit of a revolver is if you have a dud round you just pull the trigger again and the cylinder will rotate to a fresh round vs a semiauto where you need to rack the dud out to chamber a fresh round.

Revolvers don't have firing pins. Meaning you can't trace the bullet back to the gun. They also don't jam, and look pretty damn cool.

I think in some ways they're better than autoloaders.
No magazine requirements.
Faster to reload than reloading an empty magazine (though mag switching is faster).
Partial reloads are faster.
More reliable (no failure to feed, stovepipes, etc.)
Don't have to worry about spring compression with storing it loaded for years.
Super easy to clean.
Can shoot single or double action.
Brass can be neatly removed versus spraying everywhere.

Then again double stack autoloaders have twice the rounds.
I have both and I think they're both good in their own ways.

They are shittier in almost every single way. Autos will always be chosen above revolvers by anyone who actually relies on their weapon for their job. Military, police etc. will always pick autos for good reason. Can a revolver do the job? Sure, until you are overwhelmed and adrenaline is pumping through your body and suddenly 6 rounds wasn't enough. Good luck reloading that shit when a pack of nigs are on your ass.

Revolvers are just fine. The first gun in my collection I would reach for is my single action .45LC. I'm not planning on going up against special forces or anything so I can out shoot the typical nigger with a hi point he calls a "glock"
