you need more power, at least 200W of predominately blue and red light
preferably at least 350W minimum, or even better is 1000W

I've successfully grown plants with CFL bulbs it my closet. It sounds easy but it mainly depends on the species and knowing the optimal time to flower them.

I don't grow weed, but I do grow herbs and aquatic plants. The weed you get from the stores these days has a long history behind it. People have narrowed down the best lighting, soil, hydration, fertilizer, etc. With just regular light, soil and water, like I do with my herbs, you'll end up with a healthy, but not very potent plant. You're basically going back in time to before hydroponics and all that jazz.

Any bulb you buy should clearly state the lumens on the package.

Rule of thumb is like 50watts for like every square foot of space or something like that.

Besides wattage varies if you are using something like an LED light or fluorescent as examples

That desk lamp is not going to provide enough light once they get past the seedling stage. You will probably not get any yeld or any more then a single small bud.

I'll help. Make them only a few inches, make sure there's at least one node under your medium (using rockwool?), cut all the leaves in half (there should only be a few small leaves) Are you using a dome or cover?

It’s a loaded statement.. but in general he’s right. There’s different things like measuring the spectrum for lower and higher KV ratings. But the wattage does matter.. 350W is fine for a closet system. I run a 1000W HPS and a 600W MH for 4 plants depending on which stage the plant is in.

Desk lamp isn't going to cut it for one plant, let alone 5. If you actually expect to harvest, then you're wasting the power and the time. Just grab a bud grower kit from like amazon or something. Keep in mind that at some point the plants will begin to actually smell like weed and the fans are going to blow it around your house, do it in like a garage or a shed.

I know this is probably trivial but have you tried cutting back the leaves on your clippings? I don't grow weed but I've been pretty successful with clones when I limit initial sunlight and keep the leaves small and limited in number.

His plant is wonky. Probably didn't get the right lighting at first or maybe it wasn't pruned correctly.

i have had the closest success while using the cover but I will try shorter cuttings as well as cutting the leaves. I have mostly just been trying with soil or pure water, haven't had access to rockwool (I live way out in the boonies lol) thanks for the advice Yas Forumsro

If you get a good light & dont have high mineral water you can grow anything

sure fluorescents use more watts to make less light than LEDs but we still use the equivalent florescent wattage to determine output of LEDs

Use flourescent tubes right on top of a humidity dome, air them occasionally & dont let them get too hot. Rockwool's the key tho, it's nice & clean. Try rockwool insulation us you cant get the hort. stuff & use lots of hormone

This is mine. I prefer natural light. That was about 2 weeks before harvest last fall and being honest I don’t feed them enough.

More LEDs is better than more power through the same LEDs. The light is spread out more and so is the heat the diodes produce.
