Love these movies and will watch them. For me it's just campy nostalgia now though. I grew up with these and was 6 when I saw episode4 in the movie theater when it came out. Since then I've had a soft spot for all those spaceships even as an oldfag. Character development has sucked though anyone can see that. Plot holes and the like.

Would have been an incredible experience to watch 4 in the theater, walk out all excited for something brand new and incredible.

I built a fucking lifesized landspeeder, but to me, Star Wars is three pretty good movies and Rogue 1 as a pretty good prequel. Honestly that’s all I need it to be. I rewatched the OT recently....and boy....they are all over the place. And just like the new trilogy, you can tell, nothing was planned out. Han Solo is really inconsistent from movie to movie, it goes on.

I was a lifelong fan of SW, but now, I realize, for me, it was it's themes more than anything. Those movies SUCK. And Disney is the gentrification of art.

Saw that coming after TLJ. I even saw that piece of shit 3x just to be sure it was dead, but, my only question was, didn’t anyone tell the retard who directed it that there still needs to be one more movie yet? Jfc, it was like watching a movie made by someone who just smashed everything up and went, “welp, my work here is done”.... well, you’re not gonna put it all back together in the last movie, in the same film that has to end the entire 9 film saga. You don’t wrap up all the motifs of a symphony and lay them to rest in the second last movement, otherwise you’ve got to establish all new shit AND wrap that up along with everything else, & squeeze it all into one seriously confused & clusterfuck of a final movement.

I mean, honestly, as amazed as I was that Disney let Rian shit down Star Wars severed neck in the first place, I’m even more amazed that after they saw it at the last minute, they didn’t pull some serious shit like, “well fuck it, Lucas re-edited his originals, how about we just say fuck it and fix this shit with a redux before it goes out into the world for home distribution, so we JJ has a path forward with 9.” Yeah it would have been almost unprecedented, but still, I can’t imagine Jj’s reaction seeing TLJ, and realizing how fucked it all is.

The ending of TLJ feels like the end of a fucking Trilogy, Rain simply didn't care. Just wanted a boost to his career in the inner Hollywood circles. When i got out of TLJ opening night, I just couldn't think of where they would even go, what they could do, everyone interesting was dead or defamed into non-relevance.

Is it any wonder than all plot treads, characters and story elements were either retconed, backtracked or completely removed from TROS
