I'm not a good artist by any means but a good artfriend gave me some advice a while back. You shouldn't color any two pieces of clothing the same on a character, it makes things hard to read unnecessarily and it can make it harder to show depth.
that's about all I'm good for, it's better looking than anything I can make, good luck!

I agree with the other person, try not to have too many similar colours or else the whole piece just kind of blends together. Go for some appropriate contrast

I dig these designs a lot, I feel like I have a pretty good Idea at personalities just looking at them, which is (probably) always a good thing.
in regards to making art friends, you're probably best off making art acquaintances; people you can kinda chill with in thread but probably not talk to outside of it. But that's your journey man, do what you want.
