Bump

Bump

no they all fucking suck. live in austin proper or don't fucking bother

Are you a hipster?

Shit part of the country. Texas foozball town.

What's so shit about it?

I I Austin from child.
It's a shithole compared to what it used to be. The traffic, leftists and city council have ruined it, and it's only getting worse.

Well the burbs aren't subject to Austin city government.

True, but the ripple effect is real.

That's why you need to stay and fight.
Vote for non-cuck conservatives.

Voting isn't real. If it could change anything, it would be illegal. I get that on the local level it's different, however, the retards from moving here from aboard want to vote in the same people and policies that failed the shitholes from wence they came.
The entire world is getting worse by every conveable metric. I don't know where to go or what to do.

I agree overall, I feel kind of helpless sometimes.

I moved from what I call north/central ( braker and Lamar) to pflugerville a few months ago. The traffic is sickening.
Way back, you could get to San Marcos in 30 or 45 minutes. The other day it took me two hours ( 4:00pm to 6:15pm ) to go from braker to slaughter.
It's so crowded and the newcomers do not want the Austin way of life. We used to be harbingers of chill vibes. Now road rage and shitstain tissy fits reign.

Adding on,
I will say this, the music and food scene has never been better

I think south is better. Kyle, Buda, San Marcos, even New Braunfels, though at that point you are in the San Antonio metro

What is your favorite thing to eat there?

Ya'll complaining about outer Austin and here I am stuck in shitty Killeen

Yeah man you hit the worst traffic around 4 to 7 PM.

What's so bad about Killeen?

Between the soldiers and the ghetto? Probably the fact that there's nothing to do here other than dive bars and fast food. There's nothing unique to offset the high crime rate so it's just trash. Rent is also high

Well, I'm 15 or so years deep in culinary, so I don't eat out that much. I can make whatever I want. So, I'll spit out some good places.

Branch BBQ
Madam mam's ( thai )
Pretty much any taco truck on north lamar.
Taco more ( rutland location)
Peace bakery and deli ( middle eastern)
Dimassi ( Mediterranean buffet)
Maki toki ( local sushi )
Ramen tetsuya ( michi is shit)
Hoho ( chinese BBQ)
The Korean BBQ place on north Lamar by the MT market
Pho dan is shit
Mother's cafe ( vegetarian)
Magnolia's ( 24 hour diner)
Pluckers ( wings)
Wing daddy's ( south )
Don darios ( south )
The tap room ( san Marcos)
Lebowski grill ( inside a bowling alley)
Chillantro ( not north. Salads and wraps only)
Fuck torchy's

All I can think of right now

I like dive bars, to be honest.
But some are better than others. And I like there to be a variett of food besides fast food.

I may as well shout out the good breweries.

Celis
Oscar blues
Zilker
Blue owl ( sour mash )
Lazarus ( good food too )
White stone brewery
Black star co op

4th tap is not good ans has zero parking.
Adlberts has a weird vibe. Mostly boomers.

There are more that I can't think of.

It’s ok. Lots of small town sluts who won’t fuck rednecks but “are too pure” for 6th street.

Good ol' "dirty". fucking nightmare zone.

Oscar Blues has some good shit, they have a lot of stuff available here in New York (and probably nationwide).

Their pilsner is good. My favorite beer they offer.
I miss their 2 dollar Tuesdays.

nope i just think "north austin" sucks ass unless you like 150,000 square ft Wal-Marts

Yes, it's a great Pilsner. Their Pale Ale is also good

The Walmart in pflugerville is decent. I have yet to have to defend my life or take a life there.
The Walmart near braker and parmer is uh... sporty.

As far as Pflugerville goes, Marshall's Tavern is cool.

Madam maams sucks ass. They dont pay their workers I can explain more if any one cares.

Divine K9's does a "barks for beers" charity fundraiser.
It's basically a beer tour/passports. Last year I paid 20 bucks and got 20 pints. One each at a different brewery. Some were shit, but it was a lot of fun. It's a great way to see the town and check out new spots. Also, some friendly competition with the bros. See who can get them all in one month. ( the length of the promotion) may I believe.

I get that. Like I said, I don't eat out much. The curry I make shits on them. But for Austin it's good. Or try mai thai downtown I guess.

I prefer sap's honestly mai thai is alright.

I just fucking hate madam maams after I worked there for a full shift and they didnt want to pay me

Yeah, and if a place does pay out, they think that gives them the right to abuse you like a whore in a snuff film.
I work at a hotel downtown. Or I did before the shutdown. It's pretty well known, but I'd rather not say the name, just on case. That's how it goes down there...

they told me since i was "training" they dont pay me.

Ive worked in a thai restaurant for 2 years before that shit happened and my trainer got really busy so I was actualy the one training the other trainee.

Then at the end of the shift they had the audacity to ask me to come in "10am to 10pm" tomorrow for another unpaid training shift.

Side note here.
I have also been training and teaching martial arts for a long time. If a school does not offer at least one free lesson, dip outta there.

What exactly do you mean, maybe im misreading this lmao

I did before all the shitty people from places Luke California started moving in. Please fuck off back to your state.

Don't work for free. Also, if a school of martial arts makes you sign a contract without at least one free class, they are toxic and corrupt. They have something to hide.

Oh fuck off Austin has always been like that. It started sucking when all the shit conservacucks from california started be shipped here by right wing lifestyle selling real estate agents.

Dilate

I was born here in '85, but you're welcome to your opinion user.

Ahhhh I misunderstood thought you meant the school offers the customers a free class

Lol, no. Just a comment about shitty businesses.

Yeah bro and im just a college student at UT so it was the one in west campus. so fucking predatory. I got the two other trainees to quit with me since we werent getting paid. No wonder they always have hiring signs up.

THe funniest part was they called me a month later asking for me to come back fuck them

A beggar and a chooser. Delicious, ha ha ha.

Restaurants still exist after April 2020?

Austin sucks don't move there. Fun place to visit the South though. Talking about the rich areas such as Lakeway but even then I really don't like it.

Probably not. Both my restaurant jobs quit on me. I "temporarily " moved up to the pan handle for work. Construction, odd jobs, dealing junk and antiques. Maybe some food side work...
Austin is dead to me. If I come back, it will only be so I can grab the rest of my stuff. I can't stay in this tiny town, but I can new go home now either.

Dude, the cops in Wilco are the worst. Stay in Travis.

Big true

And especially if you're not straightedge. If you ever plan on drinking in Austin, you do not want to have to drive drunk through Wilco. A stem or a seed is still a felony in Wilco, and they will harass your shit to try to find it.

What about Williamson County?

I'm a hardcore drinker and I don't drink and drive at all. Ubers are dirt cheap in Austin, they're your friend.

I am well aware, as a smoker and drinker.
In a other life, I worked for travis on the corrections side and I learned a few valuable lessons.
1. You can get away with almost anything as long as you only break one law at a time.
2.most guys incarcerated had at least one, but normally 2 or 3 of the following leading to their arrest.
Their ol' lady, a controlled substance, a motor vehicle.
I would ask around. What got these guys in there...
"Well, I was smoking with my girl"

"Me and the fellas was smoking and driving around..."

Also expired inspection stickers, priors ect play in here.

The funny part is that Austin isn't even that Californian. Houston resembles California more than Austin
