I don't necessarily believe that, but we don't know what this reality is. We don't actually know what is real and what isn't. All we can do is speculate. I'm of the believe that nothing actually matters, but I try to be as good of a person as I can. I'm an optimistic nihilist.
We don't know what happens when we die, that's why people chase it. Some people want to know so badly, or hate their life so much that they can't stand it, and either want it to end or know what's on the other side. Likely it's nothing, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't be as good as we feasibly can for the sake of others and the ones who come after us.
