as far as material goes, for torsos/hip type stuff TPE is the way to go. Silicone tends to be much firmer and the softness of TPE shines when you dont have 100lbs of it to lug around.
how soft the TPE will be and whether or not it will smell like a tire factory depends on the quality of the manufacture and material they use. No clue who actually makes the OP pic for example to even tell you if its remotely worth the attempt.
