And where are you going to get one from?

walmart?

Are you a neckbeard?

Terrific console. Recommend buying it. Smash ultimate if any game to get first. Tons of hours to play it

i have a good job and friends, so i dont think? can never be too sure though

not a weeb

how is it on the small screen? i feel like theres a lot of shit to keep track of

play any animal crossing?

BotW is a must. You can lose hours to that game. SSBU is also great to lose hours to. Any first party Nintendo games really. Other than that nothing of noteworthy. Had one since it launched.

not to sound like a faggot but i actually beat botw on an emulator, shit was unreal. loved every second of it.

how do you feel about odyssey or luigi's mansion?

It doesnt really matter if you sink that much time into it, though it feels like the game is punishing you for not playing when you pick it back up after a while

how much time are we talking here? big learning curve?

i am relatively retarded when it comes to these games but my time in brawlhalla with friends is always fun. of course now they all play ssbu

Odyssey is really great. Makes Banjo Kazooie type games look like shit. Easy to beat but hard to complete. All in all worth every penny

Luigi Mansion haven't really played but what I played its fun. Really fluid in gameplay and movement. Wouldn't really get as a first game but that's just me.

absolutely worth it for family entertainment. also saved my ass any time I'm stuck somewhere for more than an hour. being able to boot up breath of the wild or odyssey anywhere is a feat of modern technology. I grew up with the OG gameboy so it blows my mind

This also with games like Doom, Skyrim, Dark Souls, Witcher, MK11, Outer Worlds and other third party games. Hell even Doom Eternal, Borderlands Legacy Collection, Bioshock Collection, and others are coming. The portability is what sells this sustem.

>how is it on the small screen
Why would you play it in handheld? Plug it into the TV.

As for games, BOTW and Mario Odyssey are the shit. I played those two so much that I've probably only spent about $2/hr of play time. Not bad for a $400 investment. Mario+Rabbids Kingdom Battle is also pretty great.

Plus with BOTW2 around the corner... Shit...I'm going to lose another month of my life to that one without a doubt.

>Wouldn't really get as a first game but that's just me.
Took me about 20 hours to beat. Not bad but nothing special. I had more fun with Kingdom Battle.

im sure ill play it on a bigger screen when im on my couch/at my desk, but if im anywhere else ill be playing it handheld - like at work on break with a coworker

how is it to play two people with the joycons on the switch itself?

Super Mario Maker 2 is really good no matter what anyone else tries to say

doesnt seem like my type of game

brain too small to make things good

Never tried. The only games I play with separated joycons are Mario Kart and Mario Party, and I've only played it on the TV in the living room.

As for playing with both, one in each hand, the motion controls open up so much freedom. Skyward Sword is one of my favorite Zelda games, but I'll openly admit that the motion controls were terrible. Motion Controls on the Switch are amazing though, I do 95% of my bow aiming with motion controls in BOTW.

great console! if you have any young siblings or kids, i'd recommend buying maybe a wired pro controller as those shitty joycons go missing fast around kids. smash, botw, and acnh are all really good games (especially during quarantine fellow canadafag)

I can't make shit, I just play what others have created. Still got 30+ hours of just fucking around with others' levels

What emulator?

you find the community is good enough to do that? i figured it would just be polluted with kids making dumb shit

cemu

I played it on the Switch and then again with Cemu.

Yes, it's worth. Online's cheap too and Tetris 99 is fun.
Game recommendations
>Breath of the Wild
- I personally loved it
>Smash Bros
it's great with the online and you said you wanted to play with friends
>Animal Crossing New Horizons
great time killer
>Mario Kart
-Fun with friends
>Mario Odyssey
another game I loved playing
>Mario Rabbids
I get some crap for liking it but I found the game to be really fun as a mindless game to play, the music Is really good
>Splatoon 2
Story is kinda boring but the game itself is really fun it's just a cartoony turf war with ink where you fight to cover the most ground on the map.
>Mario Maker 2
With the way the game is set up, there's essentially an infinite amount of playability with it
>Pokemon games
If you like Pokemon
>Indie Stuff
There is so many indie games for the switch (you can get them all on steam too) whitch is where Nintendo shines. Since they never really got a ton of third party support from tripple A Dev teams before the switch, Nintendo has had to rely on their own games, and Indie developers to help flesh out game libraries. Because of this, the amount of Indie titles available on switch is insane, and while a lot are crap, a whole lot are really good. If there's any indie game you love on PC, chances are it's out there on switch, and you'd be able to take it on the go.

I wouldn’t do it man.

Next gen consoles are supposed to drop this Christmas, assuming this virus doesn’t fuck up everything. New Xbox and PS5 is coming out. If you have one of these consoles already, I’d say just continue fucking around with em until later this year. Not too far away!

Everything's fucked as it is, get one now before the apocalypse.

Clubhouse games comes out in June i think, that looks pretty neat, $50 Canadian iirc
Mario kart is a pretty good multiplayer game but thats definitely still gonna be full price (fucking Nintendo)
Smash as well but same deal as above

not a console guy at all, only pc gaming for me

but my friends have switches, theyre portable, ive always loved nintendo, and anyone could just pick up and play multiplayer locally. so nintendo is the only one that has my interest. party/casual console type thing

not sure if the next nintendo console will be coming out this holiday, hopefully though. id expect it 2021 holiday or 2022 summer maybe

Sure, but Nintendo isn't on the same release cycle as Sony And Microsoft, the switch came out In 2017, so if user is looking to get into Nintendo stuff, he's still in a safe time to buy.

man, lets calm down

our ancestors have survived worse and we're a lot smarter now.

however id be lying if i said this hasnt crossed my mind. would be a fucking sick apocalypse system.

Hard pass.

gonna say why at least?

If we're so much smarter, why don't people stop going outside?

(Was going to say why isn't there a cure yet)

dont know dont really care

im here to talk about nintendo, thanks anyway though

buy the ps5 fham, nintendo has shit games

Because we will never reach 0% idiocy within the population.

Yeah, I kind of realized after I posted that you may not be in to either of those consoles at all. If Nintendo is your digs man I’d definitely recommend a Switch, considering you’re probably right about a new Nintendo console being released in at least the next 2.5/3 years. It’ll be quite some time before a new one gets released, plenty of time for new updates, released, etc. My buddy has one and he loves it

solid list

i think odyssey would probably be the first one i would pick up since i played botw on my computer.

i dont really understand the attraction of animal crossing to be honest

didnt really think of mario maker like that, good point

i heard the new pokemon is kind of easy or dumbed down. whats your opinion compared to the older games?

cheers!

definitely thinking ill just suck it up and buy one, always hate seeing that much leave the account though lol

I heard they were hard to find right now. As in, mostly sold out.

i heard the same thing, so i looked around and only one place had one (walmart)

so i bought the last one they had just in case and am now deciding whether to actually keep it or return it

Well you aren't gonna find one and also fuck multi-player with the family. Just get botw and animal crossing and links awakening like a fucking grown up you asshole.

see i already found one

i actually like my family, sorry your life sucks m8

>thinking about buying a switch to pass
>so i bought the last one they had
Yeah totally bro, you just went and grabbed it just now, probably downloaded it to your 3d nano-printer huh?

Put it this way, do you really want your dying thought to be "well, I guess I shouldn't have worried about paying off that credit card after all?"

i bought it at like 4 this afternoon

been busy, still thinking about whether i want to actually open it or not.

decided to ask you losers on here

is that hard to believe?

Did you get anything with it?

no debt, i have a good chunk of savings

life gud bruh

carrying case and $25 on the eshop that comes with the console but thats it.

full price otherwise

Hope you have more spare mons and decent internet to download them games.

Yeah man, you didn't have it an hour and 20 minutes ago when you made the thread at 3:50am, but now, at 5:10am you went back in time 13 hours and got it. Totally getchu bruh.

Imagine getting so mad about being told to act like a grown up that you just start sperging out and lying about shit and talking like a faggot to people
Lmao case in point
Enjoy playing your ds lite because you can't find a switch to buy and couldn't afford one if you could

lots of spare mons, gigabit up & down son

Controls are totally fine.
I've never felt like I couldn't keep track of something when I was playing handheld either

Demon x Machina, maybe

ok

i did leave out the part where i already bought it in the original post, you caught me scooby doo.

however i am definitely holding a switch in box right now that i purchased this afternoon

anyways why are you so bothered?

So then why is this such a big "if I want to"?
Go right ahead, unpack that boy and get it updated. Then get yourself Animal Crossing or one of the other games you agreed looked good.

I just got mine yesterday and picked up AC and BOTW with it.
I died the second I touched water, how the fuck do I swim?

good question

im a pretty huge kike, hate spending money on shit that i wont use as much as i think i will or shit that i end up actually finding not to be worth the cost

i used to be flat broke and got my card declined at the weed store, now i have a decent career. still cant bring myself to spend money on shit like this that isnt super necessary since i already have a retarded gaming pc

you know what, ill just stop talking now and open the fucking thing. ive spent the evening wondering if i should or not and now i dont really care anymore

nintendo can take my money, i need my mario fix

You mean in BotW?
Watch your stamina.

Enjoy it, chillax.
You already know BotW is great.

Dude I tried to swim out to the sword by the temple of time and the literal second I touched the water I died. Maybe I ran out of Stam jumping in I dunno.
When the fuck do you get some bridges in AC, I'm getting tired of running around my tiny bubble
