That is a logistical impossibility. Prior to the 1860's the country was a union of sovereign states, each with their own state militia whose first loyalty was to the state. Economies were primarily local and agrarian aside from the export trade which was a comparatively very small percentage of GDP compared to the modern age. In that scenario, states could take action as a whole against the Union.

Now, however, the state militias have long since been supplanted with the National Guard whose first loyalty is to the Union. State governments are far less sovereign since the Civil War, and the only local economy that could survive an interstate bllockade is the Amish. Every other community in the country is wholly dependent on interstate-delivered shipments to nation-wide grocery store chains and nation-wide postal and delivery services for e-commerce. No part of this country could currently survive without the rest of the system. The best case scenario for any state trying to secede is to be blocked off from USPS deliveries and interstate shipping until the locals depose their state politicians in order to see the WalMart shelves get restocked again.
