As a kid I started watching Dragonball (not z) when goku is a kid and he is somewhat relatable to kids of my generation, he is naive and trains and gets stronger, he defeats the bad guys and is a good kid to follow, so when he grew up in Dragonball Z we still liked him because we grew up with him. The show romanticizes the "warrior full of rage" archetype that appeals to people with low emotional control. There are characters like Gohan and Broly whos power is literally based on anger.

So, if you are a very emotional person with low self control, it feels like validation and a world full of people like you. I have since grown up and gotten therapy, so I enjoy it at a normal sane level. Usually have to get high to really appreciate it. But urban minorities have zero emotional control, and they're basically rewarded for it by their peers. It's encouraged. So it results in grown men with super saiyan decals on their pickup trucks that say "Warrior Pride" and shit.

I will also add that the writing is below subpar :
- the world is full of cheat codes (namely senzu beans and wish dragon) which is a huge problem when you want to make a coherent universe, because every problem could instantly be resolved.
- the power levels make no sense

And that's just the tip of the icerberg

So yeah, brownies don't really care about coherent universes and well written stories. They want the glorification of violence
