why should they, when corporations can legally bribe politicians with pac money? why would a representative listen to joe blow, who can only donate a few k, while a corporation can give them millions, even billions? besides, its not like the public will hold them accountable for their shitty lives. we have 24/7 propaganda outfits masquerading as 'news', that create a false reality for them. a comforting false reality, where all good things are due to the republicans, and all the nasty bad things are caused by liberals.

Amen. This virus is the best thing to happen to humanity in decades. It sucks right now, but I think the outcome will be fine indeed.

Maybe. I know a lot of Americans who deserve better. As a population though, they won't shed some of the mentality that's going around right now. I think it's a mentality that will lessen with the boomers dying off. I hope so anyway. They absolutely used to be the best country in the world. And I think they could be again.
