I've fired MAC-10s and MAC-11s a bunch of times. Not a big fan. Machine pistols are meme guns. You would be far smarter to invest in an actual submachine gun like an MP-5, MP-5SD, full size UZI or a 9mm AR variant. Those weapons are more practical, can be used effectively for home defense, and you will have a lot more fun shooting them.

I never cared for the submachine guns but boy would i love to shoot a p90 someday

in a situation where you have to defend yourself, you do NOT need to focus on volume or how much ammunition you have left. in most hostile situations, you want to maintain control. dumping lead down range for the sake of doing so puts yourself and others in unnecessary danger.

Don't buy. Go to a range that rents out the full-auto experience and have a little fun. And get over it. Emptying magazines is exactly the opposite of smart tactics in engagement.

It is ridiculous. That's because it's basically just a straight blowback with little done to mitigate its cyclic rate. Look up how that shit works and you'll understand why it's so fast. Plus side is, they should technically be very reliable considering how simple and rugged they seem to be built, though I'm not much of an expert on the MAC series so I wouldn't know if that holds true to reality or not.

FFL would let you buy pretty much any full auto firearm. Get an FFL, and I'd recommend getting an MP5 if you're interested in SMGs, or an MG-03 if you want a belt fed and money isn't an issue. MG-03 is the 7.62NATO modernized version of the MG-42 in case you're wondering.

Yes. That's the right way.
You actually don't want an extremely fast rate of fire; it makes it hard to control burst groups. With a bit of practice on an MP-5, for example, you can fire two-round groups on the burst setting. Two rounds is plenty for most shots you'd ever need to take, and ballistics much better than only one.
Muzzle rise on auto mean that the third round is often off target unless you've trained a lot.

MP5 every time. Tech 9's are notoriously shitty at best and have horrendous recoil. MP5 series are reliable, steady, and have a controllable but certainly not insignificant rate of fire.

As I just said a moment ago, MP5. Every time. Not even a contest. Uzi is objectively ok, but notably heavier and not really any more effective. Only positive they have over the MP5 is availability in most areas of the world. Not saying Uzis are worthless like a lot of people do, they're perfectly functional firearms. Just not my preference if I had a choice in the matter.
