Muslim here. Why do white western people love pork so much? Putting religious guidelines pork is terrible for you and can give you cancer you you ignore them and continue to gorge on it.
This makes you a hypocrite because when these same "experts" tell you smoking is bad you abide by their every word and say "imagine smoking cancer sticks in 2020". Yet you're eating a plate of cancer every time you munch your pork.

You can eat the entire pig. No really, all of it, easily. Iy used to be about recoving calories from farm waste. It can be feed anything but in modern times we tend to feed pigs overly clean foods.
It was a necessity of farm life that carried over into modern culture.

Pork is not terrible for you unless its wild (boar), and even then its not really harmful unless you regularly consume it. (Nobody does this). Really depends on what it's being fed, and in the western world pigs get relatively good quality feed. Its a good source of protein, and delicious. Very versatile too.
