I had a wooden mini, sold it off. Wasn't impressed at all. Safety sucked ass, mags were more expensive, the gun was NOT accurate, the screws holding the receiver to the wood kept getting loose. It was an interesting novelty but was otherwise interior to a cheaper $500 AR. Compared to a $1000+ AR, the mini is a joke.

I, most of my family members, almost all of my friends, and several acquaintances/friends of friends own an AR15 or equivalent.

Only two of them owned guns before I started advocating, now there are more than 30.
