They agreed after the Ebola virus that they would no longer name viruses over the location of suspected origin, because of the discrimination that takes place for years after.
Trump, however, is trying to take a potshot at the Chinese government. Unstatesmanlike, even if criticism for their original reaction is warranted.
They eventually did throw everything at it though and have got on top of it for now. Whereas Trump is still allowing people like spring breakers to congregate and party.
