I believe much of the stuff you hate about the Chinese is merely a result of their relative 'rudeness' - the Han were retarded peasants just a few decades ago and in many cases they still are. Soon they'll be more like the Japanese or the Koreans.
Animal cruelty was definitely on the same level in pre-industrial Europe. My black forest redneck relatives still drowned unwanted puppies etc. .
