I can't find one that lasts for more than 3 months without usually the left stick breaking down.
With the power A it's either the left stick drifting, the buttons not responding or both.
With the pro it's always the left stick.
I suppose I haven't looked into it as much as I should have, but is there a controller that lasts a bit longer or a way to modify my current ones to make them last longer?

If you where technically inclined you could save money by replacing the stick would require soldering though.
all I can say is get a new one open it up and grease the stick.

I can solder and have done so for years, but I'm allergic to the byproducts.
If that's the only way then I'll deal with it by using extensive PPE.

You could try Shin-Etsu G-40M Silicone Grease. Never used it but its what pro arcade players use to keep their parts moving smooth.

It's the byproducts from the cleaning process of circuits that get me. Mainly sulfur and sulfur compounds.
I can get identical or near identical parts according to the current controller schematics, but I'd rather find a more permanent fix.

I just clean PCBs with 90% alcohol and a tooth brush.
Yeah you can get parts but I think that's as close as you're going to get to fixing the issue. The switch's joycon sticks are really not that great for durability.
