I take my pocket knife and score the rind quarterly. From there the orange should just rip open cleanly. When done right this method causes almost no drippy juice mess and the flesh can be eaten right off the rind. Huge oranges can appreciate being hexed. I firmly believe this is the best method for most/almost all oranges, but almost no one does it like this.
