look. im european and no i dont obsess about the united states but there are statistics about that and america does infact has a problem with obesity. some of the causes are high fructose corn syrup in many of your foods, car and drive thru culture and generally less homecooking. BUT as far as i can tell it varies by region and demographic. also a lot of people chose healthier lifestyles nowadays and it also gets promoted alot. so it should get better with the time. its not as bad as it was a decade ago for sure.
