It's a manga that's been running for 20+ years now, and it's pretty incredible. One of the things that's most interesting about it, is that the author has basically reinvented himself in his style several times throughout the series, while still keeping it true to its roots. During the first 10 volumes (referred to collectively as the "Golden Age" arc), it's basically gritty 80s style manga of purely dark medieval warfare, becoming borderlined historical fiction. but in volumes 11-12+ literally hell opens up and pours itself onto earth evil dead style but in a completely serious manner. Over the next ~5 volumes you have every bit of bad in his world corrupted and risen to full blown demonic rape-fests; corrupt priests burning everyone at the stake, packs of roving goblins kidnapping women, raping and impregnating them to make more monsters, an evil god-emporer who tries to take over the world etc. It then turns into a traditional swords/sorcery fantasy where Guts assembles a team of rag-tag heroes to destroy the five God Hands of hell, one of whom was his best friend and rival during the Golden Age.

Consider if you will:
Griffith and the rest of the God Hands. Just chillin. Doin' nothing wrong.

Well, Berserk is a fantasy manga after all.

>Your hatred of Griff is palpable.
And John de Lancie just kinda saunters in and goes "sup".

Attached: Berserk_v31_p194.jpg (2114x3000, 1.64M)

Griff and de Lancie hit it of instantly as the talk about toying with the lives of lesser mortals.
de Lancie talking about how he torments people like Patrick Stewart and Griff how he totally cucked this dude.

I don't hate the man, I just don't love him.
Imagine Q giving Griffith a mindbending ride like that time he took Voyager to the beginning of the Universe, then shrunk them to the sub-atomic scale.
"Captain, I don't believe this, but, according to my readings we're being attacked by protons. We've been reduced to sub-atomic proportions."
Lols were had at that scene.

Attached: Berserk_v31_p195.jpg (2125x3000, 1.94M)

Q canonically doesn't like competition. When Picard out-quoted him on Shakespeare, and implied Q was afraid humanity would rise to the level of Q one day, Q was pretty pissed.

Attached: Berserk_v31_p198.jpg (2120x3000, 1.81M)

Nah. Q and Griff would totally "get" each other. They'd be friends and enjoy tormenting Guts.
Which is why he, for lulz, brings the borg to Midland to attack Guts and assimilate him.
Which leads to Berserk Trek; The Movie.

Attached: Berserk_v31_p200.jpg (2114x3000, 1.5M)

Yeah. And it happened with Femto. His fears were well founded. However, given that Femto and Q are kinda similar, they become bros.

Attached: Berserk_v31_p201.jpg (2131x3000, 1.74M)

I think you just want Griffith to be on the level of Q, but I don't believe it's realistic.
Comparatively, Griffith and Star Trek humans are about the same distance from Midland's civilians in terms of power. It's unlikely Q would see Griffith as being that much of an ascended person.

End of Chapter 276

Onto Chapter 277

Attached: Berserk_v32_p010.png (1496x2100, 460.78K)

HEY! They have common ground! Q isn't a snob after all! He'll play with all sorts if it strikes his mood!
And Griff is a charismatic fuck who would no doubt be able to earn Q's respect with magical word smithing

Attached: Berserk_v32_p012.png (1497x2100, 494.05K)

>Q isn't a snob after all
Did we watch the same Star Trek?

Attached: Berserk_v32_p016.png (1481x2100, 799.26K)

Quiet you! How dare you talk ill of the Q!
Q agrees. Griffith did nothing wrong!

Q would consider Griffith's dream small-minded.

Attached: Berserk_v32_p017.png (1476x2100, 734.61K)

Attached: Berserk_v32_p020.png (1482x2100, 663.73K)

True. But would not say he did any wrong.

Attached: Berserk_v32_p021.png (1474x2100, 769.99K)

Oh... and that'd probably set him on the path to eclipse the God Hands next in order to try and become Q's equal.

Q could find thousands of flaws in what Griffith did, no doubt.

Attached: Berserk_v32_p022.png (1492x2100, 776.9K)

I wonder what one would have to do to surpass the God Hand.
Maybe defeat the Idea of Evil?

Attached: Berserk_v32_p023-024.png (2944x2100, 1.56M)

Attached: Berserk_v32_p025-026.png (2997x2100, 1.87M)

Attached: Berserk_v32_p027.png (1470x2100, 964.81K)

Flaws in methodology are not doing wrong.

Or maybe BECOME the idea of evil.
Or. you know. More wings?

Those, too, he'd be able to point out.
Why need wings when you could learn to teleport?

Attached: Berserk_v32_p028.png (1479x2100, 901.73K)

Attached: Berserk_v32_p029.png (1475x2100, 879.45K)

Because nothing says "Godlike" like wings.
Pleb.
And he probably can already teleport. Wings are for style, bish. And as a makeshift cloak to look cool.
Q can't into that. All he can do is dress up like an 1870s mexican mariachi band member.

End of Chapter 277 and end of dump for tonight

But you gotta admit, that was one of the funniest scenes of the show.
"Q!!!"
"But I feel like celebrating!"
"I DON'T!"

Attached: Berserk_v32_p030.png (1475x2100, 1.34M)

I'm sure he had better moments. But it was a good one.

I'm also fond of
"Simple. Change the gravitational constant of the universe."
"And how are we supposed to do that?"
"You just DO!"

Ah. Mr. de Lancie. A true gem of acting.
Shame Star Trek died with 9/11.

So it seems. I've only seen TNG and its movies, and Voyager. Really enjoyed what I saw.
I watched the first 3 eps of Picard but it wasn't very good so I stopped.

Attached: Chihaya 2089.png (400x500, 136.64K)

No DS9? DS9 is a diamond in the rough! Sure, hard to swallow at first. But dear godly Griffith! Did it get awesome by the end.

And Shatner era is best era because Shatner is bestner.
Shatner movies.... first three anyway... oddly good in a lot of ways.

I think I would really enjoy DS9, but I binged Voyager a few months ago, so I'm gonna wait a few years to get back into another ~150 episode long Star Trek show.
I watched the first ep of TOS, and put it off. I may watch it eventually if I feel the need for more Trek after DS9.

Attached: Chihaya 2697.jpg (1961x2685, 1.33M)

Yeah. Break is probably a good idea.
And TOS is a product of it's time. So you have to be kind to it.

Strange as it may seem, Enterprise was starting to get good before they shitcanned it.
Also fun to note the timing of a WMD based storyline in a just a hair post 9/11 world.
It didn't have the best timing.... Poor Mr Bakula. He quantum leaped into the wrong show at the wrong time it seems.

>And TOS is a product of it's time. So you have to be kind to it.
Exactly. I'm sure I'd get into it once I started, but I think TNG was a more enjoyable first entry.
Enterprise looks promising from the 1-2 clips I've seen.. It takes place before TOS, right?
As for Discovery, I've seen some clips and it looks awful. Probably still better than Picard, though.

Attached: Chihaya 2540.jpg (715x1000, 434.76K)

Enterprise is early earth exploration set sometime after First Contact and before TOS. Warp 5 is all they's got. So while I can't remember dates or shit. I'll just say exactly in the middle based on nothing more than the number of Warp Factor.
TNG was also probably the best place to start with Voyager being a fun second.
Fun fact! DS9 ran at the same time as Voyager. and I think there were some similarities in story lines early on. But can't recall entirely if that's right or not.
>Discovery
Forgot about that one. I just noped out of that without even giving it a chance. just like Picard.
Roddenberry is long dead. that was my critique of why Voyager and DS9 aren't as good as TNG and why the TNG movies (post Roddenberry's death all of 'em) were also kinda off and fanscripty. Because they kinda were.
So anything new in Trek is going to be missing the mark
Just glad that his lingering influence was still around for Voyager and DS9.

If you're on a scifi kick, and don't want more Trek, I'll recommend Farscape and/or Stargate.
Both great in their own way.

>DS9 ran at the same time as Voyager
I heard that DS9 got the priority, I think. Makes sense why people like it more. Voyager had some questionable episodes, but I loved it.
The Doctor is top-tier all around.
>why the TNG movies (post Roddenberry's death all of 'em) were also kinda off and fanscripty
I felt the same way. It felt too grand, like they were going for a block-buster Much different feel than the series, where they could just focus on one aspect of humanity or something and play around with it for 45 minutes.
I liked that about Star Trek most of all.
>I'll recommend Farscape and/or Stargate
Noted. I heard Orwell was pretty good, too. It may be a decade before I finish what I want to in Star Trek and decide to watch another serial Sci-Fi, but I'm sure the time will come.

Attached: Chihaya 2411.jpg (859x1214, 458.79K)

Be warned. My review of DS9 is 1/3 complete trash scripts. 1/3 probably looked good on paper, but didn't pan out that great on film. and 1/3 pure gold that makes up for everything else and then some.

I found Voyager to be a lot more consistant in quality. Never any huge highs or lows like I got with DS9. So not sure who got priority. But those highs in DS9 were epic as fuck.

I too have heard this of Orwell... Not sure if I'll look into it or not though.

My thing with doing Voyager over DS9 was I heard DS9 was mostly 2-3 episode long mini-arcs, whereas Voyager was almost completely episodic. I like knowing that I can spend just 45 minutes in one sitting to get a full story, without looking up to see how many episodes I'll need to watch for a conclusion.
Not a big thing, but enough to make the call.
Voyager only had like 5 episodes that I felt were kinda best. Rest were either good to amazing.
I think Orwell is more recent, and I heard it's similar to TNG/TOS in terms of sci-fi.

Attached: Chihaya 2158.jpg (1280x896, 740.81K)

Again... I too heard this of Orwell....

Early in DS9, not so much. As things picked up it became one massive overarching epic awesomeness.
But by the time you get there the beyond awesome characters and acting will have you hooked. Leaving you with the problem of being horny to watch more and probably not having the time.

Hey op, can I ask if you've played Dark Souls. I've been meaning to read the manga but never had the time love the DS series though

SISKO DID NOTHING WRONG!

Good to know, and yeah I'm sure I will be hooked. It's getting around to starting it that's the hard part.
Anyway, I'm gonna head off for the night
later
I'm the opposite, never played DS, but I know it's got a lot of similarities/homages with Berserk. I'll play it one day. Just as I'm sure you'll read Berserk one day.

Attached: Chihaya sleepin.jpg (800x539, 71.22K)

Later OP.
I'll be sure to send Donovan to tuck you in shortly.
