How much do you tip Yas Forums? And is it mandatory?
I'm gonna be visiting my uncle in America next week. Will they spit in my food if I don't tip?
How much do you tip Yas Forums? And is it mandatory?
I dont tip
tip 15% to 20%. it's not mandatory but it's heavily encouraged. if u dont tip they wont spit in ur food but they will be a little bit sad. waiters are paid shit so u should really tip even if service is bad.
They earn their pay through their tip. Remember that
You've been going to visit your uncle in America next week for months now.
u already posted this faggot
How many times a day are you going to post this, asshole.
Based me neither
Yas Forums is nothing but reruns now
Yes but how is that my responsibility?
Usually I default to five bucks if I'm just paying for a meal by myself. But if the 15% is more than 5 dollars, I'll tip whatever the 15% is. Sometimes I'll go to expensive places where I'm stuck with a 120 dollar bill, tipping waaay more than 5 dollars. Lol.
This one, zero.
It's usually 15% tip, you could just leave $5-15, that's the usual tip. But if you were a problem and made them work harder then give $20+
This thread again.
Simply put America has been brainwashed into thinking it is the right thing to do by subsidising waiting and delivery staff's wages by tipping.
It's the profits of the meals or drinks that should be paying their wage from their boss, not customers who have to pay for the stuff and pay again.
This is why the majority of Americans have a take take take attitude with everything, needy and greedy.
They care but I wouldn't if I were you.
Save money and buy some other shit worth your time.
Not for at least 30 days faggot. Unless you plan on swimming.
He rounded it off, what more did she want. And no, eat first tip after, so no spit
If you can't afford 20% tip, you can't afford to eat out.
UK, and other Asian and African countries can still get in.
If you live in the neighborhood and frequent a certain place alot, then tip a couple bucks but never over 5.
If you're visiting, you'll never see that place again so tip nothing since it doesn't fucking matter.
Or be based as fuck and not tip, ever
There's my point someone who is brainwashed into thinking it is the norm.
Do you also tip your bus drivers too?
Police?
7/11 staff?
Fast Food joint servers?
Taxi Drivers?
Probably not right, why not? They are offering a service.
Go to different restaurants constantly and don't tip. If you like the place a lot tip because you come back. Theres no reason to tip different amounts because of the price of the food. Would you tip a valet based on the price of the hotel.
You dont have to tip. I only tip if they go out of their way to do something extra. Barely doing your job earns you nothing extra.
Depends on where I go the service and my bill.ill tip of it's a nicer place with good service usually 10-15% of my bill.i'll also tip a bartender if she keeps my drinks full and has a nice ass &/or tits or if she just has a nice ass or tits.some times a dude bartender if he's funny
How the fuck are they going to spit in your food for not tipping when the option on whether or not to tip doesn't occur until after you've eaten?
If they're doing their job, I never tip. I don't care if you bring food to my table, park my car or give me a haircut, that's your fucking job which I'm already paying for. If they go above and beyond their expectations, doing nice shit for me I never asked for but appreciate, then I'll tip but usually don't go over 10%.
me neither, it's not my problem that their bosses don't pay them enough money
restaurant prices in the US are relatively cheaper because of the tipping culture. since you're expected to tip, the restaurant charges less because they don't need to pay the worker as much
it's a pretty shitty system to be honest but that's just how it is, and you have to follow it unless you want to be an asshole
You’ll get blasted on social media for being a cheap jew
Not saying I agree with US tipping system but you are bound to get fucked over.
What i think is stupid is that somehow the price of the bill translate to how much i pay you. What if i order one expensive plate which costs 100 dollars? All they have to do is bring it to me and they want 20 bucks? Fuck that.
You can cook your own goddamed food & clean your own fucking mess, then.
it's the norm because the restaurant industry's pricing is built around it, not because of brain washing
WE GET THIS CANCER EVERY DAY.
I only tip when the service is exceptional.
It’s not my job to pay your bills.
Most of the time I don’t tip especially when it’s a place I rarely go or will never come back to.
And no they won’t spit in your food because you’ve already ate it ding bat. You pay after you get done eating.
We took pictures of non tippers and spread them around town. A lot of places do this. Chances are all your meals come with a little extra phlegm.
dont tip, not going to give you money for doing your basic job. idk what this above and beyond thing is, they bring me my food if they fuck up they fix it not noting worth leaving extra money for.
*cough* terrorist *cough*
I love the fact that most people with this mentality would scream bloody murder and cry like little girls, if their bosses did away with their bonuses.
Projection.
It isn't mandatory, but it is a cultural thing that you should do. I have a general rule of thumb.
0-10% this is what you get for shitty service. 10% is bad. 5% is very bad. 0% is rude shitty service. 0% and a smartass note is if you shamelessly hit on my wife in front of me.
15% is average. That means my server gets a C.
20+% this is what you get when your service alone will bring me back.
There's no set rule, but generally speaking you should tip. I have friend that owns two restaraunts. For the Pizza place, non tippers will eventually be refused delivery service. Non tippers at the sit down establishment will be politely shamed.
$0 every time
10% if it's good enough for Jesus it's good enough for the wait service
>if u dunt overpay u cant afford it!
Well that’s retarded logic right there.
You realise it isn’t the waiters who cook the food, right?
Fuck that bitch. I ain't gotta tip you shit for doing your job
More like Truth
Refused delivery seems a bit steep.
What does politely shamed entail?
double the owed bill, you must always do this while applause, they will spit and snot and hair in your food no matter what
/thread
keep up bitch, time to stop tipping altogether.
As a non-american, this is fascinating to me. The fucked up system you’ve established where you VOLUNTARILY reward poor service. Or else you feel bad.
But only in this one particular area. Otherwise people in need can get fucked.
>Refused delivery seems a bit steep
It is, but it is a response to local conditions. He's of the opinion that his delivery guys are like independent contractors. He's not gonna waste their time by sending them out to a known cheap asshole. This also isn't done of the driver has done something to earn a no-tip.
As for the polite shaming. If he is able to catch a no-tipper, he will audibly ask them if their service wasn't satisfactory and if there was anything he could've done to improve the visit. He doesn't yell, or behave rudely, it is more a manner of a concerned owner. I've seen it done, he's really good at it.
I don't reward poor service. Look at it this way. A waiter usually makes a little under $3/hr. If I tip them 2% on a 100 dollar check, that means they've earned about $2.5/hr for their time. Once I get irritated, the sliding scale falls very fast. I have left 2 cent tips before.
Thats actually a fallacy. In most cases it actually costs more for food with the American tipping system.
If the restaurant priced their food more reasonably so the staff was paid properly you'd find that the entire meal ends up being cheaper overall and any tips are a bonus for good work instead of subsidizing an employer's cheap attitude.
Canada also tips.
You are retarded. They subsidize the food price so that you can tip and leave feedback. If you want their bosses to pay them the tip wages, then start paying them 20% more for your meals.
That might be true, however I have another objection to the no tippers. Tipped jobs are one of the last places where a person without higher education can go to make a decent living. Sure, waiting tables won't put you in a Benz, but it does give you the shot to earn enough to pay your bills and save money on the side. It does give you the ability to work part time and go to school or build a business. I know people that were able to better themselves because of the income from tipped jobs. Where else can a person do that?
Your entitle to the bonus.
Both of those are pretty sound approaches tbh - smart guy
I tip my pizza guys (in a country that doesn't typically tip) because word travels and friends comment that pizza is fresh and hot on arrival where as theirs is hit and miss.
Not our problem or responsibility. Their job should be paying them what they earn. Also, in California it's illegal for them to make less than minimum wage
My state has a min wage of $13.50 so i been tipping less
Just vacationed to Hawaii - people are real characters in service roles. They make themselves memorable and earn the shit out of their tip.
On the flipside, it's Hawaii so nothing is cheap by comparison. Tipping on top of expensive prices for smaller-than-average U.S. portion sized? Gettoutahere
