Anyway, to clarify the point I was trying to make about stigmatization. The subject matter is too taboo for people to want to participate in any scientific study. So the only subjects they can study are criminals who lack self control or morals. The poisoned pool of test subjects adds a bias to the results of any scientific study one might attempt. It is well known among the scientific community, but lawmakers and the public would prefer to ignore this truth.

I think they are more flexible where joints exist, but the skeletons for dolls are not very well articulated at this stage. Also you will experience strange deformation at the joints similar to what you see in 3d models when you animate them. The dolls don't have real muscle and that's super hard to get right. I think using dolls as a reference has potential but you will want to add expertise gained from anatomical study.
