My wife and I are also looking to move out of the South. We're looking into Colorado because I have a possible job prospect there (made it through two rounds of phone intervews). The cost of living is higher, but it's not that high unless you want to buy a house.
I can appreciate most music, but new country and mumble rap is a hard no for me. Ideally, I would move to Sweden or Finland for the metal. Maybe France for the culinary arts and EDM but I genuinely love the US.
