And for a $65 dollar meal, $5 dollars is fair. Because 1) It’s your duty as a server to serve... you’re doing nothing to help someone that requires you to go out of your way. And 2) You should be grateful people are giving you extra money out of their pocket period. Be it a dollar or $5. That’s money you didn’t have before and if you think about it, there’s other people don’t get tips that are actually more deserving of a tip than a server such as elderly homeless people. Regardless of their life choices that got them there, they are not getting a check and have no possibility of getting a job because of their age.
