AK is more likely to jam in adverse conditions. AR is more likely to shear a bolt lug after you've shot 15,000 rounds through it.

If only such a thing existed. The m14 was an incredibly flawed design that was inferior to each and every one of its competitors. Even the knockoff Italian BM59 is a far better rifle. Do not imagine what you learned in videogames applies to real life.

AR- 15- more accurate, more mods available.
AK-47- Full auto fire, far FAR more reliable, and won't jam from a spec of dirt. Seriously, just thinking a dirty thought near an AR-15 will cause a jam.

If you live in America get an AR-15, shoots flatter, ammo is more accessible (not that 7.62X39 is uncommon) and a little cheaper.
The 15 is easier to mount an optic as well which is important to a person who has to ask this question.

Completely depends on the situation, ar15 is smaller caliber but more accurate and ak is more powerful but less accurate.
I'd go ar15 for safety roles and ak for damage.
