Most people want to sell you more then a gram at a time. So they charge about 20 for a gram and 40 for the eight b/c they don't want to sell only a gram.

50/g is outlandish. $10/g is pretty standard but it can certainly be cheaper or more depending on quality.

on the streets in germany you pay 10€per gram if you dont know people. if you're lucky. i've seen 0,7g per 10€.
if you know people the price drops to about 5-8€ per gram but 5€ being the bare minimum if you buy directly from the grower.
amount matters too. so for example on the street you get 1g for 10 and 11g for 100, something like that.
