You know atoms?
They have electrons around them, usually in pairs.
Unpaired electrons cant spin opposite with each other, so the unbalanced charge affects things around itself, ie- magnetic field.
A magnet is formed when somebody dies from auto erotic asphixiation, their soul is then trapped in a 'blank' magnet by scientists. The attraction you feel in a magnet is the tortured soul trying in vain to escape the hell of its new existance.
muthafuckin magic everywhere in this bitch
Magnets are just solidified electricity dude.
interesting, what makes the electrons not able to spin opposite with each other?
electrons aren't particles.
Happy metal see sad metal
WOOOOSH
They touchy touch and stick togetha
I don't believe in atoms
there must be another way of explaining magnets
Magic.
Some atoms have single electrons in their outer valence shells around the atoms, and unpaired, they produce a magnetic field. I mean they produce magnetic fields anyway, but are usually cancelled out by an opposite field produced by its electron pair. But because its alone, no opposite field fights it, so you get the field going outward.
so basically, the whole planet is a big fukken magnet
you dig up a little piece and use it for things
protip: there is no magnetism in space
What's the field made of?
additional to the visible world there's electromagnetic fields going on due to polarization of cristalline structures. This is a hard subject to grasp, and takes time. I'd recommend this course

They are powered through magic and Insane Clown Posse.
End of disscussion.
Close thread.
its not made of anything, its a conceptual difference of depolarization.
For reference: imagine a lightbulb. The 'light' isn't made of anything in particular, nothing like matter, but yet it is visible. This can be compared to an electromagnetic field
Well it is. Its made of photons. But they spread like waves
but photons aren't matter, which is exactly what I'm getting at
The movement of electrons creates a magnetic field. In a magnetic material, the electron spin is responsible for the generation of the field, but the spin has to be unpaired. This occurs in many d shell elements. Copper has no unpaired spin, it is not magnetic. Iron has a bunch of unpaired spins, it is magnetic.
Aren't electrons waves also?
The movement of the atoms are contradictory to the poles. The movement repels each other just like planets don't attract each other in space but circle instead
electrons are best described as particles with a negative charge. Their position relative to the atom it is surrounding is always unknown, and can only be described as a wave form of probability. thats probably what youre getting at
They are particles but can also behave like waves, beacuse they are so small. It's called wave-particle duality.
Example: we use electrons in electron microscopes to see small stuff we cant see with light.
what about oxygen? can oxygen be magnetic?
Cool physics. Should have studied this stuff in my younger years.
Maybe you should just read up a little bit of the electromagnetic force. It’s the strongest force in nature. So, pretty important to maybe understand it a bit.
The basic stuff you can learn in senior high school. Just go on youtube and watch some shows/lectures on the basics.
Personally I'm not very fond of phyics, find it sorta boring. But a half-decent foundation of physics is sometimes important to a chemist
Jesus makes magnets all attachy
Never made it very far in high school. Left early to start a trade.
Not that i'm complaining. Just wish I knew more about this kind of thing too as it's always interested me.
It’s made “from” an electric current, it’s a force, a vector field
Matter and energy are interchangable, and electrons/photons can be thought of with similar properties. Energy of a photon is E=hf, with h a constant and f = frequency.
Can also apply this to electrons too, with electrons having some energy E, you can 'calculate' their frequency, and use this energetic electron as a 'wave' with a 'frequency'.
Shitty explanation but yeah.
Everything is magnetic.
pretty certain naturally bounded oxygen is inert, relatively stable and has no significant formal charge. Thus not magnetic except when excited
Something else that blew my mind was the electrons passing through a thin slit. Do it with light, it spreads out, same with electrons.
BUT, if you try and observe where the electrons are when they go through the slit, you destroy the pattern they make, and you just get something in the middle.
Seems you know a bit about this kind of thing.
Talking about particles, when they talk of entangled particles, they always use photons as an example.
Can most particles be entangles or just photons?
if oxygen is not magnetic, then why does it stay on earth and not just vent into space?
All particles can be entangled
waited for this. Have a (You)

The collapse of the wave function? Still just theories isn't it?
>wiki article on quantum entanglement
>Quantum entanglement has been demonstrated experimentally with photons, neutrinos, electrons, molecules as large as buckyballs, and even small diamonds. The utilization of entanglement in communication, computation and quantum radar is a very active area of research and development.

>Insane Clown Posse
You mean voodoo, juggahoe.
Not telling you
Cool. Shits really interesting.
Hoping my son gets interested in physics and quantum mechanics.
Big future in this area imo.
Like all of electro-magnetism, it has been called a wavicle. It has some properties of a wave and some properties of a particle, but is not either of them really. It is its own thing and we try unsuccessfully to map it to waves and particles because we understand those intuitively, but they aren't a perfect match for either. Calling electrons waves is a just a rough approximation and you need to be careful of when you use that approximation and know when not to do so.
Nah no way. It's demonstrable in the lab, ill find a pic.
The magnet just say metaloid to the other metals and they just beat the shit out of him microscopically but we don't see that
All molecules are bound by the electromagnetic force. Just because it doesn’t experience a positive or negative charge it’s still controlled by the electromagnetic force in nature. O2 has electrons and they are governed by the electromagnetic force. This can not be changed.
Gravity
what is generally accepted as a magnet & magnetism are in fact electrical effects, as is every effect of MATTER that we SENSE. a banana has the very same properties as a 'magnet' but it lacks the COHERANT GEOMETRY that allows us to sense 'magnetism'. All matter is waves of electric charge in motion. purely electric and purely motion. magnetism IS A NON EXISTANT FORCE
So what causes the collapse? I heard some mention consciousness alone or the observer.
Makes me want to attempt to read Bohms book.
Wholeness and the Implicate order.
Looks a bit too complicated for me though :(
The observer paradox. Your conscious awareness can influence the wave particle outcome. Your consciousness is part of the quantum realm
oxygen is paramagnetic. check:
so a "moving" charge creates a magnetic field. thing is I'm high on coke. so if electron is moving through copper wire it electric charge moves too, but protons is wire stay still af.
but in jew boi relativity you could say from electron is still and protons are all moving. so you could say the electron experiences magnetism cause proton electric field seem to move. simple explanation -> we perceive electron's electric field to move with electron while proton e field stays put, but electron perceives protons e field and that field acts on electron and its field.
>magnetism is electric force acting on some shit through a different perspective than the electric force we perceive
Lol this is surprisingly accurate, if not hard to read. Have some tits.
consider, everything wave cycles electron arrives at zero crossing is neutron becomes increasingly positive proton becomes less positive, becomes neutron at zero, increasingly negative electron again
Name?
If you know how relativity basically works, this explains how electron magnets work.

Also watch his other shit, this guy is awesome. AND, if you're interested in the history and usage of Uranium, watch his Twisting the Dragons Tail documentary (2 parter). It's sick.
photons are certainly matter. they do have mass however small the amount.
particles are not waves. particle wave duality only says smaller particles behave like waves but not always. the truth of what waves and particles really are is still beyond man.
sorry, ELECTROMAGNETS i meant!
>the truth of what waves and particles really are is still beyond man.
And how the observer can have an impact or them is fascinating. If the dbl split experiments are correct anyway.
Water, fire, air and dirt
Fucking magnets, how do they work?
TY love tits. (more and I tell you secrets in return) sorry for hard to read. my English is good, but as I said Im high on coke
that is a no... not even close. electron is completely different kind of particle, proton n neut boi is made of smaller quark which is also a different type of particle from electron
A magnet works the exact way that gravitation works on our flat earth. The upper earth side is one pole, the lower earth side is the other pole. People on both sides are pulled in direction of the platform and don't flow into space. Just like the magnetic particles in OP's pic are pulled to both poles.
there are no humans on the downside of the earth
Which is the downside?
