Nah it's the difference between blinking/breathing manually and letting it happen. Some people just autopilot through their lives and some people have to argue the cost benefits of using their right hand or their left hand to jerk off.

I wouldn't say that. I think its more to do with lack of parental involvement at an early age. Kids aren't getting the one-on-one stimulus they need at home, and they certainly aren't getting it in after-school programs, daycare, etc. Kids need to be challenged early, taught critical thinking at a young age, otherwise they learn little more than reaction in self-preservation.

And often when working in a complex topic, there is something I would have to sacrifice lots of time and effort into if I were to put it into words, strongly encouraging me to attempt to suppress the monologue.

you've gotta learn to speed-read your internal monologue. There's a difference between thinking in linguistics and waiting for your internal voice to finish a full sentence before acting on it.
