So I'm getting bullied at work and I don't know what to do. >desk job at an office >very large company >everybody's organized into small teams of 4-6 people >got along great with my particular team >I trained half of them >we're all killing it at anything work throws at us >feels like we're all work-friends >even started to make plans to hang out after work >then I have a bad day, get stressed out, health issue pops up >vent out loud about my problems to my team >I get thrown for a loop when they don't give a shit at all >they start calling me a pussy >it was jokingly at first >but I was clearly not in the mood for fucking around >that doesn't stop them >then over the last couple of weeks it starts happening unprovoked >if I give them shit back then they're like "we're just fucking with you quit being such a pussy" >if I don't react at all they're like "you're gonna let us talk to you like that? quit being such a pussy" >when I ask them to stop, "oh there he goes being a pussy again" >meanwhile they're still coming to me for questions and to help out on stuff
It's so fucking juvenile and hypocritical. But they all seem to be in lockstep about singling me out and shitting on anything I do. My team leader does it too.
Because of the way our company is structured (and because they're absolutely shitty about backfilling positions) then next person in management is REALLY high up and basically wants nothing to do with workers as far down as us. I will be told to handle it on my own. OR if my team leader gets pulled into it he will simply deny it and have the rest of the team to back him up.
If I get physical I will be the one who gets fired because, again, the rest of the team will back up that I was the aggressor. If I decide not to help them out or try to push my work onto them, I will get the bad review.
My team is clearly trying to provoke me but I have no idea why. My only guess is that (at work) I come off as very calm and capable. People have remarked how I'm cool under pressure and often come to me to solve problems. So my team might be trying to get me to "break" out of some kind of perverse game. I don't fucking know.
There was nothing I can pinpoint. One day we're all cool. Then I have a shitty day and I vent to them about it they've vented about their bullshit to me/the team many times before. The team is men and women. None of them came off as douchebags until recently.

Work gets funneled into our team by a bunch of other teams. We're the last in line for the entire process and all eyes our on us.
Our work gets exponentially harder when the other teams don't do their jobs right or on time. But for whatever fucking reason ours is the only team that is held accountable with something gets fucked up. (The reason is we've lost most of our management and the company won't backfill those positions.)
That's what I was bitching about. On top of that I was fighting a bad cold and some new pain in my back that I have to get checked out.

You could ask them. At first they're gonna find excuses. Then you have to tell them how often they do it (specific occurences) and ask them again WHY. Also , know that you can also report any co workers to the eeoc, the equal employment opportunity center, for doing stupid shit. I use this method as well. If a co workers steps outta line with you and says some dumb shit like oh your a fuck head, your this and that and you dont appreciate it, you go to hr. If hr doesnt help use the law method itll scare them . Maybe use ur cell phone record yhe dumb shit they say, over a span of time you have enough evidence to turn it into the eeoc and have them arrested for workplace harassment, or worse threats etc. As for the method of returning the same thing they do, that is like yhe law of power method: you know how medusa was killed? Best way to deal with this is to 1) Out-produce the people who are trying to shit on you to the point where they depend on you being the hardest worker on the team and then 2) Find another job. When you turn in your two weeks, dont be a tool or a fag, just say that you found another job that and explain that this job is challenging for you anymore. If your boss counters with a change in positions or a pay raise, counter back that you need assurance that they are going to step up and be a leader. If your boss is a bitch about it, then you walk away and make more money. If you boss steps up, then keep working for them. Reward their leadership with productivity.
When you go off and sperg out on the job, people can start seeing you as annoying, and not a team player. Showing that you are a team player and that you are commited to the crew is a good way to get on peoples good side. Physical violence only really works on construction teams, and in an office environment people may try to goad you into attacking so they can get you fired.
