there's also the term "transsexual" which historically meant the same thing as transgender, but when used today, it usually refers specifically to trans people who have fully transitioned, or are in the process of transitioning.

"tranny" and "shemale" were terms generally used in porn marketing back in the day, but are often seen as slurs nowadays. the porn industry generally uses the terms "tgirl" or simply "trans" instead nowadays.
