Is it true that height really is the most important factor in men getting laid? I'm so fucking sick of 6'4" Chads telling me that "oh hurr durr it doesn't matter how tall you are, just get in shape and you'll have women banging down your door" yet I literally spent years (ever since I was 18) improving my body, endlessly scouring fucking bodybuilding sites on how to improve my physique, using anabol and SARMs, etc. Yet women still ignore me / block me when they find out that I am a short male... Alot of people asked me about how i worked out, so i added a comment to this post…so here goes:

When i first started i decided to lift 7x a week. I had no specific reason I chose this, I just wanted it to be an ever part of my life.

I decided to do my split as: Day 1: chest/triceps, Day 2: back/bicep, Day 3: legs/shoulders.

I grouped chest/triceps because bench engages your triceps some, inside grip bench engages both, dips engage both. So i saw alot of shared excercises.

Back/biceps because pull ups/chins ups engage both and rows some as well.

Legs/Shoulders: were just the leftovers and I liked the idea of grouping them as fatigue in one wouldn't affect the other muscle group

I didn't do any isolated ab work my first 3 years. This was dumb. But I had a fat stomach and I didn't really want to push my fat stomach out anymore or work on a muscle grouping that I couldn't see. Again this was all dumb, but i'm no pro about any of this.

My mentality at the time was to lift as heavy as I could. I only did 2-4 rep ranges for everything and then I just did 8-10 sets to get in the extra reps. When I was in college we always did 3 sets of 10 reps for everything. And I didn't really accomplish anything special in college my max bench was only 185, so I was ok, but I had previously never achieved anything special or even decent fitness wise. So because of that I was like F that style, let's do the opposite.

You're doing life wrong.

This method worked well for me. I liked it, I could do many many sets of an exercise knowing I only had to push really hard for 3-4 reps. Also i really value the eccentric/negative part of a motion. Let's say you're doing a bicep curl. When you've brought it to the top, focus on lowering the weight. That should be a struggle. Don't just let gravity drop it as you barely guide it. Resist gravity as you lower it have it be a very controlled deliberate motion. You can control more weight as you lower it than when you raise it, so be certain you're taking advantage of this load you can put on your muscles. Time under tension is what we're after, we want your muscle to get fatigued and to do that, we want a long heavy load on it all the way up and down.

Currently I lift in a more 6-10 rep range, I'm really trying to focus on the "Mind-muscle-connection" where you try to really focus on a muscle as you flex it. It's hard to explain but this is the most important part of lifting. It's not about momentum or how much weight your lifting, it's how much you're working that specific muscle.

I can give you my X workout but really pick 4 exercises per body part, do 5-7 sets if you like a 6-10 rep range, and do 8-12 sets if you prefer a 2-4 rep range. Make sure you focus on the muscle, you can't just go through the motions. If your benching, think about your chest moving the weight. Your arms aren't moving it, it's all being derived from your chest.

Another really important thing to do and it sounds super douchey but it's important. You have to flex in front of the mirror. Can you flex your lat muscles? I couldn't initially. I didn't understand how to control that muscle. A lat muscle isn't something you really engage during the day. When you do pull ups or rows you are focusing on your lats. How can you fully engage a muscle if you don't know how to flex it? Same thing with abs, this has taken me forever but there are a million different ways to flex your abs. You can flex them as if you're going to take a punch, you can pull them up as if you were doing a hanging leg raise, flex them towards a side as if you were doing wipers, fold them in (as to bring the middle of your stomach inward, vacuum where you suck in your abs, as if you wanted your belly button to touch your back. Practicing these things has made a big difference.

Now when I do an ab exercise I am really in-tune with how my muscle is functioning in the movement and I'm able to make it work harder. I'm also cognizant of my abs when I squat or dead lift, I have a very strong stability in my core because of this.

This has also proven beneficial outside of the gym. I play indoor volleyball and just recently I started focusing on engaging my abs as I swing through on my serves. I've always served fairly hard but it was all arm motion. I've been training abs now for 4 years and I feel like I have very strong abs. So I started focusing on engaging my core through my swing. Suddenly I have power on my serve that I've never experienced before, it is night and day how much it's enhanced it, just by focusing on flexing my abs and engaging them.

So exercises I like, I'll just list a few that i'm routinely mixing in to my workouts

chest/triceps:

Bench, Inside Grip Bench, Incline Bench, Incline Inside Grip Bench, Dumbbell Bench, Dips, rope pull downs, tricep extensions

Back/Bicep:

Rows, deadlifts, standing lat pushdowns (i really enjoy these to warm up with), straight bar curls, rope hammer curls, preacher curls, pull ups

Legs/Shoulders:

Front raises/side raises with a dumbbell, military press, behind the head press, side/font raises with pulley, lunges, squats, front squat, leg extension, leg curl

So for 4 years or so now I've been doing abs and calves in an every other day fashion. So since i lift 7 times a week, in a 2 week period i'll have done both my abs and calves 7 times each.

I will not ever do a plank or a crunch. I feel like they're a waste of time / beginner.
