I recommended Hellier (only the first season, haven't watched the second) a few days ago and a bunch of people who obviously hadn't seen it jumped down my throat about it. Very weird reaction considering it was just a recommendation for something spooky.

I personally think it's really good, BUT, I believe have to be a certain kind of mark for it. Not a retard who just believes anything, necessarily, but you *do* have to be quite open-minded to buy some of the stuff they go on about, and I feel as though you also need to have a rather strong basis in certain /x/ shit to begin with to get anything out of it. At no point did I ever feel like the first season was a hoax, though. Some of it could have been quite easy to hoax, though the disjointed nature of the documentary leads me to believe it's authentic.

I've seen it brought up on /x/ a few times and people seem torn on it, some people think it's the worst paranormal documentary ever (these are the people that I imagine couldn't get past the moment they start talking about all the cave systems and how someone knew they had visited one before), or they consider it completely perspective changing. They reference John Keel a lot, which is also quite interesting, because I think John Keel was a very legitimate man who just wanted to get to the bottom of something incredibly strange.
