So I'm a manager at my job...

So I'm a manager at my job. Really nice guy and all but I've found that lately I've started to lose my patience with certain employees and just people in general.

Is this something to even worry about or is this a natural habit for managers?

if you want to be nice to someone get friends, children and wife.
a job is the rational side of life.

Welcome to management you'll soon notice all you're employees are morons and think you are and will do everything they can to get out of doing their jobs while still be paid

/thread

>OP calling himself "nice"
You're most definitively not, I'd wager.

Imagine being a school teacher, OP.

You’re the one the Karens want to come screech at and you have to pretend that their retarded entitled ass is right if you want to keep your job. You’re the one that gets blamed any time some future high school dropout can’t perform the simplest of tasks because they don’t give a shit because they don’t actually need the money. You’re the one those same little shits are going to come
crying to with their sob stories about how they can’t do their job and so you’ll have to end up doing it for them so you don’t get shit on for it. No, being a manager in that kind of food/retail environment fucking sucks and I’d want to kill my self if I ever had to go back to that shit.

True.
I mean I am at a point right now where I would really like to start a family.
I just keep catching attractive girls that end up being some sort of trash in some way so I just have to drop them softly.
I am a catch, got my life together and all that. But I just want a woman who is on the same calibre as me, y'know?

I'm a really nice guy, that's my weakness. After I had to terminate my most favorite employee (ended up being my fuck doll, lmk if you want details), I became somewhat cold to everything and everyone. I have noticed my emotions start to fade after so much disciplinary action. But I still buy my employees dinner all the time even when I am on a budget and maintain a positive work environment, my team really likes me. I have just noticed myself fading lately.

Yeah you're right. That sounds like a nightmare.

I 100% believe everything you just posted, OP.

Welcome to life and humans in general, are you approaching 30? You start to really despise humanity around then.

people are idiots also I need source

I manage 4 people in a corporate office. I feel ya. I liken my role to that of a rodeo clown.

Be reasonable and fair and you will have fewer issues with your staff.
And if you are reasonable and fair and an employee is still a problem, you should have no issue bouncing them out.
Keep your end of the bargain covered, and then maybe give a little extra leeway, then if they still dont respond appropriately fire them.

getting rid of bad employees is easier said than done. HR controls many of those decisions, and they make it hard to get rid of problem employees.

It's irritating as fuck to be in a position where you have to nag other people
You resent them for turning you into a fucking nag
Fuck those people

You are a fucking faggot you dumb bitch...

...full grown adults don't need babysitters, adults don't need managers, and if they don't respect you that's probably why. American has some bullshit ass problem with "managers"...manage these nuts in your mouth...other countries don't act like this...

....they are adults, you are an adult, quit trying use them as carpets you dumb faggot. All the decent ones will leave and you will be stuck with the untouchables if you don't cut your shit...

...I fucking hate American government bureaucracy and this bullshit ass pseudo corporate bureaucracy... you are not a "manager", you are a faggot. Evidently not meant to lead..

someone's up past his bedtime

30 year old dwarf gets beat up by a 10 year old?

Ugh yeah. Can’t fire someone for “just” being too fucking retarded to do anything right. Have to wait until they break one of the big official rules like not showing up and not calling and even then they might just get a write up.

Just say what you need to. Im the branch manager of my sales office, I'm 31 now and had the position since I was 27, definitely stuff to learn. My biggest think I've learned, you're not there to be friends. You're there to get a job done and make sure others do the same. And, they MUST listen to you. You don't need to be a dick all the time or anything, just don't be a pushover. I've eventually got rid of all the salesman that worked with me in sales since they wouldn't listen, didn't like that I got the job, but my new staff is great.

>And if you are reasonable and fair and an employee is still a problem, you should have no issue bouncing them out
See the thing is, one of those employees is one of my best friends growing up. We had a falling out and hadn't talked in a few years. I came into our company at entry level in a different department but became his boss within a year of working there.
Insubordinate as fuck to me. He'll never respect me because we grew up together.

I can, but I don't work with a lot if rules restricting me and Texas is a right to work state. I don't even need a reason to let you go. This is me btw

Can somebody please translate this trash??

You're a narsacist. You probably can't preform any of the tasks you believe you manage. You brown nose your boss's, sexually harras coworkers, and will be out of a job soon... managers are the most expendable and useless commodity at an office.

>samefagging this hard
go to bed junior

I can deal with incompetent, but what gets me are the toxic personalities who make it miserable for everyone else. The boomer retirement wave is helping, but we still have a one really toxic cunt that we tolerate because she is, admittedly quite talented. They tried to get her report to me, but she just told our current boss "no". And he's a chickenshit, so he left it at that.

The real pisser is we just had a RIF and they didn't offer her fat ass a buyout. Why? Because she refuses to train a successor and is basically holding us hostage. I think we should just hire an expert from a competitor and show her the goddamn door.

He's right. Nothing says "I kiss ass" than being a "manager".
also
>18 yr old retards managing 30+ yr old retards

Fuck. Op here and people have told me this before, but for some reason this spoke to me. Ive almost seen a complete turnover of the staff I started with.
Some of the few that remain are the most insubordinate to me, probably because they knew me at entry level..
The employees that respect me have all seen me only at my current level.

hey here's another one fit only to follow, not to lead.

I see my director dealing with that. The managers that report to him have known him forever and are being real cunts to him since they're all jealous that he was elevated to director and they weren't. Not a smart move career-wise, but most of them are near retirement so they don't really have much to lose.

God I can't wait for the boomers to be gone. To a one, they are more immature than the millennials that they manage.

Nah I'm one of the cool managers you always wanted to have, but I've just reached the point where I have no patience for dumb motherfuckers.

oh hol up dis a cringe thread? ok then

OP is an office bitch. Whining about people don't listen to me, I get angry. What a douchebag..
News flash everyone bangs chick's at work... learn to cope without being a whiney bitch, make coffee, stop being a bother to the workers

> i'm a manger
> nice guy
> worried about other people
that's because you are a tool of "the man". "the man" wants you to fear for your paycheck buy making you as corrupt and dirty as those above you but you aren't actually on the same level because they think the same thing about you as you think about your team. recognize that you are a cog in a machine meant to enrich those that are already rich. why do the rich and wealthy want more money? because at some point straight wealth becomes boring and the wielding of power is all that is left to do. you fire and abuse people so that wealthy people can feel power and laugh at you

Found the loser.

NEET DETECTED!

lol the workers would just piss away the day on smoke and coffee breaks if managers weren't there to make shit get done.

i haven't relied on anyone but myself since I was 18 and moved out. i am 51 now. got my first job at 14 and haven't been unemployed since.

lol 51 and posting on Yas Forums, that's a new low of pathetic there grandpa

I don't know if you manage engineers or cashiers, but in my experience you get respect if you both insulate them from higher-up management, and you are able to provide whatever they need to make their job easier. And when they're slacking, they like to hear "we're all professionals here and want to show it" (people really do, even if they don't practice it) and "a good way to do it I think is (explain proper way)"

lol first insult didn't work. keep reaching for more.

I'm 51 too. We invented this whole internet, son. Go back to your Xbox (which we also invented).

where I work (pic related), being insulated from higher-up management is a great way to never, ever get promoted.

Attached: Abbott.jpg (668x761, 31.78K)

collect your thoughts before you reply gramps. YOU have invented nothing.

agreed. he will be here whining still when he is 50.
if you keep it up you might possibly hurt my feelings. nah we grew up in sticks and stones. younger generations can't take hurt fee fees at all

Engineers don't want promotion though. I doubt cashiers do either, they just want a paycheck and go home.

>engineers don't want promotion
now that's fucking funny

imagine being 51, still shitposting on a dying imageboard, and never being good enough to break into management. You were born to serve.

Promotion to what? Project manager? Endless meetings, status reports, timelines, powerpoint presentations? You are obviously not an engineer.
>be engineer
>stay in cubical all day
>don't have to talk to anybody
>get shit tons of work done
>go home without having to talk with anybody

And I'm 52. Been here since early Moot.

>implying "management" is something to aspire to
You have no idea how it works. Go back to your unpaid internship, kid.

where is my shitpost?

lol letting your sloth and social awkwardness suppress your earning potential. thanks I guess, leaves more money in the promotion pool for those who have ambition.

people who deal with the public tend to hate the people.

>thinking a stagnant career is something to aspire to
there's no more CP here old man, time to call it.

you too ya old perv

all of them user, all of them

Old person is pathetic because old, but you, young virgin faggot who still has time to enjoy their youth but is wasting it on here because they’re probably too autistic to order at the drive thru without cumming their pants, isn’t? That is funny joke.

great job. you win you got all of us with your cleverness and wit.

lol it seems that you're never too old to sperg out

Attached: 1515412363596.jpg (500x281, 74.03K)

>not knowing software engineers make way more than corporate mid-level managers
Keep dreaming, kid.

sure they do kid

And that's why people disrespect you. Your faggot ass came in and got a management position after a year of working there. Most likely kissing ass and sucking a few dicks. Your subordinates know this as well. That's why they are disrepectful towards you.

if it is so easy to become a manager, then you only look even dumber for not taking the opportunity.

Of course we want details and pics of this fuck doll.

Most people want to work and get a paycheck. You have to be one psychotic fuck to manage. Knowing everyone is giving the bare minimum to get through the day. Also the fair minded and stern you are, the more you will get done. Op sounds like a whiny faggot. Who can't stand up to those below him.
