Don't go, it makes things worse.

I went, and years later I still have dreams about being there and wake up depressed that it's just dreams.

its not enterly necessary to be japan, just move out from your hometown and make your own life, you'll feel better

I'm sure a nice trip would do me some good, but I'd probably feel extra alienated living there.

i'm sure a trip would be cool but living there looks a little problematic
would much rather just move to the netherlands or something

You have things precisely backwards.
You fell in love with Japan. And unlike a woman, it's never broken your heart, so you still wake up dreaming of its warm embrace.
It is because Japan didn't break your heart, and you still love it which is why you feel that way.

wouldn't want to dirty their streets with my filthy presence

It wouldn't better my life or help my depression (not that I have it anymore) but I'd like to go simply for the experience. Going to another country isn't going to fix your life.

And I'd rather not feel this way. I'm sick of waking up feeling awful.

This is what older more conservative japanese people think about foreigners living in their country

The solution is to get a job where you can work 9 months a year, and spend 3 months in Japan.
I don't know how tourist visas work in your country, but in mine you can visit for up to 90 days a year. You can have the ultimate goal of getting a job where you get western style hours or work culture, but can still live in Japan, so you can avoid 90% of the problems of Japan

Why do you people think Ching Chong island will heal you of your mental issues?

It doesn't fix your life, but it does act as a distraction.
A lot of people I know right now are bored, and are turning to pot or alcohol because they are bored. And because they continually are taking drugs their health is declining.
Planning a trip to japan will be exhilarating, and a healthy distraction,
even the people critiquing going to japan are saying so, because the experience was so positive, they dream about it long after they're gone

People are more polite, scenery is pleasing, culture is quite inoffensive. It's a very comfortable environment outside of work and may soothe the pain.

relaxing in an onsen, and forgetting all your troubles is a pretty nice experience

answering a couple posts from last thread.
That would be a good idea.
There's a lot of gay bars in Japan, and there's actually a certain gay bar which is all you can drink place

I have to agree with you there. I want to stay in Okinawa or something for a year or two, live cheap near the beach and just relax. It's hard to relax in America because our culture is so profit-driven. You have to be a millionaire in order to live a slow life in this country.

Very nice museums

You know, if you have nothing else going for you in life anyway and you really want to visit, you should walk to Japan.
Grab a backpack, a good pair of hiking boots and traverse the world.
You have a destination and a reason to keep on going, that's the most important thing.
IF you do manage to make it there on foot you'll be a truly dauntless Chad, a man of the world, an adventurer who puts lesser men to shame.
No woman will be able to resist a real man such as yourself, you can settle down there if you want to and build a life for yourself.

I don't see any reason why you would want to live here honestly, it's such a flat and drab place.

Here's a few photos from the skytree.
There's an exhibit on this floor that's kind of cool.
They make an actual Macross model, and open this display to the public.

They get a bunch of the original artists, to sign and draw art on the exhibit.

The exhibit also features a sattelite, a katana made out of asteroid rock, an AR Solar system setup where you could see the surface of mars and stuff like that

All in all, cool, and something that entertained for a couple hours in japan

been there on holiday twice, it's cozy and the food is good

Local food is potatoes, kale and sausage though, or fast food from a snackbar.
All the good food here comes from other countries if you ask me.

Pretty intersting thing to share user, look how they reffer to their forgeings living in their country, they do have concers about it and what that everything goes as legal as posible but dont go ape crazy about it, even tho they hate chinese

yeah, but they seem pretty reasonable.
Like the old lady is just saying "well we have to have foreigners living here because of the inverted pyramid so it can't be helped"

Japan is a fucking island no one can make it there on foot.

yeah makes me thing if its posible to go as a 'mojado' all the way there, america isnt the dream anymore

Get on a boat from China

Then you're no longer on foot.
Unless you count me driving to the airport, walking onto a plane, walking off the plane and into Tokyo airport means I walked to Japan
