We finally have the ability to actually see how the whole world is like now so we can form an informed opinion on it. Social dynamics have fundamentally changed in this generation so there's a sort of culture shock nobody can avoid. Technology has advanced so its easier and more apparent for suits to manipulate the public into being the perfect cattle.
Honestly, in certain ways, now is better than ever to be alive on a physical need level. Food, clean water, health care, and an archive of an unprecedented amount of information is available to us. It's just before now you wouldn't have had the perspective to see how fucked the world truly is in a lot of ways. Seeing how subjextively stupid humans are everywhere is deteriorating everyone's confidence in large scale society.

That's one place. The world isnt 2 dimensionally flat, so no idea lays across it perfectly distributed. Their plumbings nasty, but it's probably better than what most of the worlds working with. Even if by our standards we wouldn't even wash our hands with it. And they can still by bottled water for drinking. Or some corn syrup drink which is probably worse for them than the shit water.

Like I said, your physical needs are taken care of in first world reality. You dont have worry about medical things because we have a medical infrastructure and our waters generally clean.
