It is a shame I did not manage to bump my other guitar thread in time, but my god it had some really interesting dudes in it. I am glad I made that thread, I hope yall come back for this round

I missed my chance to buy a beck Tele. Was going for 1100, and I didnt do it. Now I cant find it anywhere...

>beck mongolian chop squad
Jesus Christ, it's been a decade since I last thought of this show. Based.

I'm thinking about getting my first electric guitar, do you guys have any good recommendations for under $250?

Whatever you like. If you can get a combo, as in a guitar, amp, etc all in one for that price, go for it. If you are debating between guitars on their own, literally go for which ever one you like the look of. The difference between brands at that price point is nothing

I am literally watching it right now. It is amazing how the first 26 chapters of the manga pretty much EXACTLY translate to the eps of the anime. If you liked the anime, do yourself a favour and read the manga. 102 chapters, which is basically 102 episodes. Some insane shit goes down that makes grateful sound seem like a minor speck in their timeline.

Is it unwise to admit I have a Gibson and will I be tied to the stake for crimes of normalfaggotry?
I like it

>Is it unwise to admit I have a Gibson
Dawg I continue to make this thread because I cannot stand the faggotry in the Yas Forums guitar General. This is a comfy place. If you want to talk about your Gibson, go for it. Post a pic.

link to previous thread user?

Ah shit sorry I didnt think to put it there

fags that obsess over gear and branding ruin music

play what you want

I'm relearning the guitar after recovering from a stroke and the crippling depression that followed. I was always weak at chords (was mostly a lead player). Should I just transcribe diatonic chords in each key? I'm thinking doing both horizontally and vertically (being in a mode and transcribing the inversions). Any advice? Also want to play at incredbl hihg speeds.

The Fender Squier Bullet Mustang has a pretty good reputation and I've been using it for a couple of years.Totally fine guitar and I don't see myself buying another one in the near future

>Any advice?
If you want to be a lead player why are you getting stuck into the weeds of weird ass music theory?
If you want to get faster then slow down to a 50% pace, and increase your bpm by 10% when you can get your riff down perfectly 20x at the current pace.

I want to be well rounded. Chords have always been a weak point of mine and I am unsure of how to approach properly learning them. It feels daunting at first, knowing that you can build not just a root position chord around one note, but also inversions of other chords too. I'm kinda having a hard time getting the concepts I'm thinking into words right now.

Properly learning them isnt diving into the deep end like you suggest. Learn your basic shapes, learn your favourite scales. Learn the shapes that live inside the modes and scales you enjoy using, if you feel the need to go that far

Thanks for the advice user, and nice trips

I've heard good things about Squier, I'll keep it in mind. Thank you.

I don't own any Yamaha Pacifica guitars, but I have heard really good thing about it, it is better than a same priced squier.

why don't you faggots learn to play instead of jerking off over gear

Ibanez gio,

They look sick

Started playing guitar about 5 months ago

got really into tool and started just playing a bunch of their music. I can play the grudge, lateralus, the pot, and right in two decent enough to pass.

my issue is I am having an extremely hard time branching out to different tunes and styles of music, even though I know i really should. Can anyone recommend some music to learn, or atleast give me some tips to get away from drop D and do some other bands and tunes.

I have one, and I don't really like it. Maybe just my product is shitty compared to other low end guitars, cuz the wiring is fucked up, prob the ground, cuz it keeps popping everytime I touch the strings, the neckshape isn't that good, the tuners are horrible. But as I said, it could be only my product, altough I won't buy ever again an Ibanez gio, only if it had a good price.

I mean it's not the best, when I got my gio it simply felt better than the other lower prices guitar they had. The lower range epiphone felt like it was made from cardboard and the lower end squires felt like cheap toys.

I have a d'angelico Excel DC, anyone like those?

Like I said last thread, I'm a beginner gigging musician. If anyone else is looking to gig or if there's somebody more experienced than me with gigging, please respond. I'd love to chat.
I had a Gibson and it was nothing special. I sold it. Kind of miss it a bit, but I prefer Fender Telecasters for an electric. I even play doom metal on them.
But bass is my main instrument.
Agreed. I sold a lot of my equipment though, but gear comes and goes. I need to redo my setup with new gear once I get back to working.

Just ordered this SG.
Comes with a Dimarzio high output pickup and an SD jazz pickup.
Really excited for it. Right now I'm playing an Epiphone Explorer with stock everything and it's really not for me.

music isn't magic, it's a meme in the original meaning of the word, from the chirp of a bird to a large-scale symphony. in this context the guitar is an evolutionary strategy, just like music itself. now the guitar is dying, some have spent hundreds of hours, many of us probably thousands of hours on a strategy that's completely useless in this new ecology. where do we go from here, flat brim hats and neck tattoos?

Head on over to the Yas Forums guitar thread. Those guys worship Gibson.

You're talking complete nonsensical bullshit.

I use an epiphone sg thats used and it fucking sucks

Of course it sucks. Can't expect an Epiphone shitplank to be anything but.
