This is egalitarian propaganda. Iceland is one of the best countries in the world and they have relatively low genetic diversity. You only need like 10,000 people to combat inbreeding depression and there's no evidence breeding within a larger population is beneficial in any way. If humans could breed with goats, their offspring would be VERY diverse genetically.

There are actually some good reasons to discourage outbreeding. Firstly, mixed race people in America have significantly higher rates of mental illness. Secondly, there are emergency procedures, like bone marrow transfer, which require a highly genetically similar donor in order to perform, and if your parents are too genetically different, you'll be liable to be less similar to a single one of them and possibly no one exists who is similar enough to you (this is a problem mixes race children in America face). Thirdly, genes propagate in groups, not independently, but when you outbreed you're increasing the odds of separating genes that were only beneficial due to other genes which complimented them.
