Blame it on the stupid system. We are told to like certain things and do certain things in life, not because we want to, but because we always have to think about others. It's always about serving others but never serving your own needs. It's the Protestant work ethic of loving work (as long as it is useful work that the system seems worthy) and not complaining of course. We can't have unhappy workers because that's bad for profits.
My dream was to be a composer in the same league as the most famous classical composers. I'm still pursuing that dream at the age of 27. I realized at some point I didn't need a job or career in music composition in order to do this. I won't let society tell me what's right or what's wrong anymore because being a servant and kissing others butts isn't making me less depressed or anxious about everything.

It seems like he didn't take this reflection time until he was 46 when he should have taken it when he was 30... Though you still have 14 hours left in the day after work and a day off he couldn't tell that things were that fucked with his wife. Just feels like he was too locked into his work to give a fuck about anything except his bank account.
