I am not that guy but both men and women forgot what marriage was supposed to be. It is a spiritual thing akin to a romantic friendship that is supposed to last. It lasts because two individuals love one anothers company not because they want the marriage to endure. Marriage is supposed to be the ultimate romantic friendship with the opposite sex wherein you share information, confide in one another, build each other up, and improve as one solid unitary pair. Religious consummation is only there to provide moral support and backing to a monogamous marriage and exists in all ideologies. This is because marriage is a spiritual dedication.
Unfortunately, Hollywood has clouded peoples minds on what a marriage should be. Women grow shallow and only seek the kind of love they see on television and men grow disenchanted by the nature of contemporary women.
It is not outdated, we have simply devolved into lesser states of being.
