I was playing dark souls yesterday for like the thousandth time and I thought I would play some music. I found this video and I thought why not. I have never listened to this type of music before so it was all new to me and oh my god, where has this been all my life.
It is not the best sounding music ever, but the people, the vibe, just everything about these festivals. These people are drugged up on ketamine, mdma and all sorts of shit and they look like they are having the time of their lives. I have to go to something like this
They do look like they are having fun. Where in Europe is this?
Jason Ross
as someone who goes to festivals like this, it's a 50/50 split between ppl on drugs and ppl genuinely there for the love of music/ppl. i'm like the only psychonaut in my group lol. look into local raves in your area before committing to a festival and see if u like it. see u there user also there's so many styles of edm pls don't go to a hardcore show first
What would you recommend to listen to, bearing in mind I am new to electronic music?
Jackson Kelly
Goa trance. Its melodic enough to not put you off. Then you can get into more experimental shit.
Chase Hughes
Raves are fun as fuck I used to go to them all the time when I was a kid. I highly suggest going to one user.
Asher Clark
Not him but I love hardstyle, house, drum and base, trance there is a lot of good shit out there. I was never much into dubstep but sometimes it can be really cool if you are rolling.
Brandon Sullivan
Never even knew Indian people liked this type of thing. Alright, I will start off with that. Thanks user
Parker Morris
Check out: Shpongle, younger brother, hallucinogen, tipper, clozee, jade cicada, spoonbill, and KLO. I go to raves and fests all the time before they all got shit on this year by the rona. It's a fun time. You meet cool people and theres always something interesting going on. Be it a crazy mainstage laser show, or watching some wook trip out on the floor by the grilled cheese stand.
Indians are just part of the aesthetic. There are a lot of israeli producers in goa lmao. Check shpongle like the other user said also astral projection Astrix Blue planet corp Goasia MFG Talamasca and explore. Amelie lens if youre for og techno and want to fap to a cutie. Check what raves there are near you and go even if youre alone people are more laid back in this culture and you might meet some friends.
Matthew Cruz
It actually makes sense. I know a Goan guy at my work and he only ever listens to this sort of thing. I always thought it was a bit out of place but I guess it is normal.
Zachary Wilson
I want to go to a rave so badly. I mostly listen to EDM on my spotify account... I want to go to one so bad. Fuckin candy flip and shit. Dude shit would be so cash.
Michael Wright
Goa trance started because goa india was the end of the hippie trail in the 60s and 70s and is where a bunch of hippies from Europe and america showed up. After a while the music changed with the advent of electronic music and then in the 80s ut was the in thing for Israeli 20 somethings to go backpacking in india. They partied in goa and brought the music back to Israel and Europe. Thus the huge psytrance scene in Israel.
Grayson James
I used to go every week back in the day. Some of the best nights of my life. Not been to a rave since 2011... almost 10 years, fuck.
Matthew Lee
>mans got taste there's a lot of artists i listen to not on the festival circuit. that would be Savant, the bloody beetroots, yung bae, etc but artists that regularly attend festivals and have shows that throw the fuck down would be Black Tiger Sex Machine, Rezz, lucii, Subtronics,, Excision, bassnectar, etc.
Btsm, rezz, bassnectar and subronics suck ass. Get better taste in electronic music.
Colton Cook
Excision post 2011 is garbage music for garbage people to do bath salts to
Jordan Morris
Didnt know that. I love ozric tentacles as a precursor to electronic psychedelic music. Faggy vocal trance from late 90s-early 00s is also very nice and gives me some feels
Juan Rivera
Yeah man the history of the genre is super interesting to me. Raja ram and goa gil really did start this shit and it's really cool that after all these years they are still touring.
Hudson Sanders
Yeah dude. EDM is like. It's the music I feel celebrates pure /vitality/ the most.
Cameron Wood
ay man we all got different tastes. my brains so far gone i listen to noise core bc nothings weird enough for me anymore but those are mainstream artists that have killer live shows. not everyone wants to go to an underground basement rave and get k'd out
Its awesome. Its what keeps me going and im glad there are people here who appreciate this music
Adrian Moore
Sorry I posted that before my morning spliff. Yeah I get you. I listen to a lot of psytrance and IDM that a lot of people would hate. If you like weird fucking music check out Woulg's set from yippee and friends full moon gathering last year. That shit stirfried by brain
Connor Bailey
Tipper and friends not yippee. Fucking auto correct.
Joseph Perez
Thats nice. Also anything warp records for weird offbeat stuff and some nice visuals
Cameron Anderson
thanks man i'll check it out. i like idm a lot and i wanna get into the genre more so like.. if u got rec's lmk. also dnb artists.
