Going out of your way to make sure they never get jobs isn't going to help. They ought to be shown compassion and taught to be better. It is ineffective because people choose to not let it get to them. It is a sign of maturity to ignore words intended to be offensive. Unfortunately, the word nigger, which only applies to the United States and maybe Canada, is treated with insane levels of disdain.

Sadly enough there were far more white or European slaves over the course of history, especially in both the Middle East and to the Romans. But the USA has had its own little agenda going on for the past 80 years regarding race relations. Somehow they have turned one little word into a magic identifier of which, specifically white, person to crucify next.
