>tfw godawful and incompetent at my favorite video game
Anyone else know this feel?
Tfw godawful and incompetent at my favorite video game
Yup, I'm atrocious at every video-game. However, for EU, I tend to play with cheat-mods and just fuck around in general.
>unironically liking uninstall.exe as your favourite videogame
Don't feel bad about it, user. A lot of people put thousands of hours into that game and still don't master it.
I got this game some days ago and have to save scum like a dog.
Yes. I put 14,000 hours into FFXI and was never good at it, and only accomplished the kinds of things that people I knew had accomplished in just a year or so.
Not for a while
8k hours reporting
This. I just make generals with max stats and steamroll over armies all the time. I feel bad about cheating, but every time I play legitimately, I either have to be extremely patient, getting like one county every hundred years, or risk overextending where every enemy you have instantly fucks you up. I have no clue how people are actually good at this game. It seems like 90% luck.
Aren't those games more about storytelling instead of being skilled and winning?
>made a counrty on nationstates site
>can't write a constitution or build a military for shit
at least I made this sick flag
>However, for EU, I tend to play with cheat-mods and just fuck around in general
this but hoi4
Nobody is good at grand strategy games
Lmao imagine being a brainlet
Nope im in the top 10% of all vidya I play. Sucks to be you OP
Use the ledger before you declare war on someone bro
Give it a hundred hours or so of gameplay and you'll get the hang of it
that's not very impressive user, baselius isn't difficult
How is Karaman harder than Byzantium? Just ally the Mamluks lol
I absolutely love strategy games and i absolutely suck at them.
I just moved to a new place and now I can't win as often at the games I'm actually good at either because of higher ping making me lose corner firefights.
no its a strategy game
poland, lithuania and hungary is defo easier than mamluks
Implying you can even ally Poland/Lithuania/Hungary as Byzantium anymore
You just start out too weak. It's just you and Wallachia and maybe Theodoro/Albania/whatever. Though once you get past the initial bottleneck it's smooth sailing, I'll admit
I assumed you had it from when it was piss easy, but I played byz for fun and just had a decent start with albania and wallachia and it just didn't seem too difficult. Skanderbeg is broken
I really love CRPGs, but I'm kind of bad at them and usually struggle to complete them even on normal. I often even brute forcing or cheesing them by just smacking stuff with my fighter (or equivalent) until everything is dead.
For example, most people will tell you that Baldur's Gate 1 is harder than BG2 (due to lack of high level spells). For me, BG1 is easy for the opposite reason - enemies can't use high level spells on you, so I just smack everything until it dies and spam Wands of Heaven during every difficult fight (mostly right at the end of the game). However, BG2 for me is very difficult and I really struggle to get through it, while most people cruise through the end game.
>Not crippling Ming in the 1400s
You deserve it
Grand strategy isn't really about winning.
Wow I also do this with the rest of the main 4 historical games. I feel like this might be tard behavior because I presume if someone admitted this in a vg or v thread, you'll get called a tard or a loser.
Same, its kind of fun and also fuck around with major nations, destroying them, and releasing nations to see what happens if either those or outside nations gobble them up.
I'm somewhat decent at HOI4 but that's the easiest one to master out of all paradox games
Imperator is kind of easy for me, lots of RNG.
Same with you on EU4, CK2, and VIC2. I just cheat those games to have fun and mess around.
Does IQ help with strategy games? I play any strategy game and easily get a decent ranking after 100-200 hrs. I was diamond in SC2 after just a few weeks and I am ranked #580 in Age of empires2 after 250hrs. I cannot fathom how people struggle after 1000s of hours.
Took me 3 tries to get my current ironman game off the ground bro :'(
Skanderberg is broken, agreed. I also think just allying a horde of OPM's it broken in itself. OPM's get way too many troops for their size
Touhou in general. Terrible at shmups but I enjoy playing them, as long as I don't make winning my goal.
